They were unable to take the pills by themselves, so I found an alternative method. It ended up being changed to only give them meat at first. Each bowl got five pills. Ensure they consume all the food including the pills by handing them the food and standing over them until they have all eaten it. In the end, I give them Kibbles after the bowl is clean. It is an amazing product that I cannot shut up about. Like some reviewers, I was skeptical about how effective it would be. As I have recently stopped using heart worm prevention in the past based on a great deal of research, I was a bit anxious and concerned about the outcome. Whenever we live in Florida, we usually have a huge flea market in our backyard. They were preventing fleas from reproducing by taking heartworm medication, not by biting them. My dogs were at times covered in fleas to the point where I felt bad for them, which meant that my husband and I had to spray the yard countless times. The fleas have NOT appeared in this year, and now that it is middle of summer, I haven't seen any fleas at all on my horses. Despite the flea infestation, we haven't even sprayed for them!
