My dog is a small young St. Bernard with a 19" neck. I went with the XXLARGE because it's 2" longer (most are 12") and she could reach her back paw with the vet's plastic 12". She won't be able to do this one. At the tiniest of adjustable sizes, XXlarge fits perfectly.
It's made of cotton and can be hand washed. There's a video that demonstrates how to wash it in various ways. However, it is unlikely that this item can be machine washed.
You should be fine as long as you get one that covers his face well and extends past his nose, preventing him from reaching his ear area. It bends a little, but only enough to flatten it out when they lay down or something. Also, since his ears have been worked on, the fabric would be nicer than the plastic, as I believe the sound issues and echoes that traditional plastic cones caused when they collided with things were what bothered my dog the most. If they run into a corner in this, it simply rubs up against the corner rather than throwing them sideways.
Medium. My Bichon Frise (14 lbs.) required a medium. He was able to remove the collar from his neck. The size small was ideal. Because corgis are slightly larger than other dogs, medium should suffice.

I'm not sure how this happened, but I ended up ordering a Large when I really needed an Extra Large. After receiving the product and discovering that it did not fit, I went to the company's website and discovered a completely different size chart, which I am including here in case it is useful to others. I like the product because it is soft but not too floppy to close over the dog's head while he sleeps.
Our vet took a look at him. She found no foreign body in his skin after shaving his left toe and examining the area, so she prescribed antibiotics for ten days. He was given a large, uncomfortable plastic cone to take home. Instead, I put a cotton sock on his foot, but when I wasn't looking, he'd take it off and begin licking his toe again. I chose the Comfy Cone collar XX-L after reading reviews and ratings. Large. It's padded, well-made, and works perfectly; I didn't need to secure the cone with my dog's collar because it's held in place by velcro and the size can be adjusted. It isn't a problem for me because my dog is well-behaved. He can't reach his toes because the cone is long enough. The neck of my dog is 25 inches long. Two photos are attached. br>Recent changes: To keep from rubbing his eyes, my dog had to wear the cone (again) for a week. He prefers to sleep in the cone because it is padded and comfortable. I discovered that I could slip the cone on and off without having to secure the velcro each time after adjusting the size - This makes taking him outside and feeding him a lot less difficult. Because my dog has a large head, I'm able to slip it on and off with care. The cone is something he really enjoys.
I just got here. It's a huge improvement over using plastic cones. Anything would, of course, be preferable to those. I have a four-year-old Black Eng. who weighs 70 pounds. Lab and the Large are the perfect length (10") to keep her from messing with her ACL surgery stitches. It's her back leg, of course. It would be nice if the collar that goes around her neck was a little bigger because it barely fits. It has two rows of Velcro that you should use, but I'll only be able to use one because the other would be too tight around her neck. It should be easier to keep it together if she wears her regular collar around her neck. I HOPE! She has a LARGE neck, to be sure! Without this, I would have given it five stars. If not, I'm confident she'll prefer it. When it comes to cones, there aren't many to choose from. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. It's been about a week and it's still on AND I'm aware of it. Tell me everything you know. that she is a lot happier now that she doesn't have to wear the plastic cone If you have any doubts that the one you're considering is too small, we recommend ordering a larger size. It most likely will be.
We had to cone our 21-pound miniature schnauzer because he had a small scrape on his leg that he wouldn't let heal. We got him a medium comfortable cone, which was the perfect fit to keep him safe from himself and his ferocious licking. He wore the comfy cone for about a month, had no problems sleeping with it on, and had only a few issues with it (which are detailed below). br>br>Whilst our dog has made use of the inflatable travel pillow- We knew he needed a real cone this time because of the spot where he was licking that the travel pillow wouldn't block. Our dog LOVES sleeping in very human-like positions. poses that you like - Passed out in a seated position in front of the TV, on his back, resting in a pillow - As a result, we knew a hard cone would be ineffective for him. br>br>He didn't like it when we put the comfy cone on, but he didn't hate it either. He didn't have any issues sleeping with it, and it did its job of keeping him safe. He could eat and drink with it on (though it was a struggle), but the sleeping and protection made it well worth it for both us and him. br>br>On occasion, our dog imagines burying his food and water first, which was amusing. When it comes to the cone, it can be disastrous at times. Because he's not very good at negotiating angles or figuring out alternate routes in general, it made his cone smell like dog food, and he got a questionable amount of food into his mouth. It's definitely possible to eat while wearing the comfy cone because he did it several times throughout the month while looking like a possessed and hungry funnel, but your results may vary. br>br>In the world of dogs, I consider the cone to be a medical device, and the relative rating is based more on function than anything else. For example, if you broke your arm and needed a cast, it'd be difficult to give a cast 5 stars because you'd be annoyed the entire time, but if it did the job and did it well in a bad situation, that's pretty much a 5 star product, which is how we viewed the comfy cone. br>br>I think this is a fantastic product in general, but here are a few key points that come to mind: br>br>APPLICATIONbr>- We didn't weave our dog's collar through the cone because we attached our leash to its collar. Velcroing it around his head separately from his collar was much faster and more reasonable.
- Only inside the house did we allow our dog to wear his cozy cone. Because it's so opaque, it was very disorienting for him to wear on walks, and it made him walk very strangely, so we quickly gave up. Fortunately, taking it off and putting it back on takes only a few seconds. br>br>EXCELLENT STUFFbr>- The velcro makes it simple to put on and take off your dog's head. Even if you don't weave it into your dog's collar, it's incredibly simple.
- Velcro is far more secure than you might imagine. Our dog only wriggled out of the cone once in a month, which was most likely due to us putting it on too loosely.
- With it on, dogs can get a good night's sleep. Our guy was unconcerned about anything. Like a small portable satellite dish, he passed out.
- The dog's neck is not scratched by the material.
- As long as your dog's nose isn't too long, it provides excellent protection.
- It's not difficult to store this. We had to take the comfy cone on a trip and had to bring it with us - There's no need to be concerned.
- We didn't have our guy wear his cone outside after the first couple days because the outer material on the edge is a little reflective, but it was neat to see.
- You can wear it around your neck and crack some funny jokes if you get a medium or larger size. The shared experience will be greatly appreciated by your dog. -BR>NOT SO GOOD STUFFbr>-BR>NOT SO GOOD STUFFbr>-BR>NOT SO GOOD STUFFbr>-BR>NOT SO GOOD STU The velcro sound does not appeal to dogs. Instead of drawing out the sounds for best results, we used the band-aid method of "TEAR IT OFF AS FAST AS YOU CAN. "
- It will pick up about 25% of smells because it is made of similar material to a winter jacket . Our dog stinks a lot, but the cone didn't bother him too much. However, if you take your dog for a walk while wearing the cone, it will most likely stink because the cone will be all up in the dirt, brushing up against plants that have pee on them, and so on. br>- Your dog can't see around the edges because it's opaque. There will be some confusion at first, but our guy quickly regained his composure. br>- If you crate your dog, it will be an adventure for them to get in while wearing this comfortable cone, just like any other cone.
- If you have a lot of stairs or doggy stairs in your house, your dog will make some mistakes and fall down.
- Eating a cone, like any other object, can be a disaster.
- It isn't a perfectly round circle. Ours would sometimes form a triangle, and other times a square, but it always got the job done!.
