A size large fits me if I weigh 35 pounds. A Berndoodle. I did not like how big it was. As well as having a long torso, she also has long arms. When it comes to the large, it is primarily the length of the suitical that is too long. A little over six would be my estimate There is an error of 8 inches in the length. I would guess that a medium would be fine for a 50 lb person. Draw a picture.
Initially I ordered a medium and it was too tight on my 50 pound dog. I had to return it, as it was too tight on the 50 lb dog and I had ordered a small.
If you unclip the hind end of the suit, you can roll the belly of the suit up the dog's underside and fasten it to the front leg with the strap. As a result, the suit does not get in the dog's way when they have to go potty, saving you the trouble of removing the entire event every time your dog needs to go potty.
The dog we have is There are 30 inches of chest in her. Our order was an XL and she found it to be very comfortable. Trying to get it off didn't work. The Suitical is one of my favorite books.

Its a thick and soft material that appears quite durable. The quality of the fabric will be tested once it has been cleaned in the machine. sized chart says small is 17 to 18, medium is 18 to 26, large is 21 to 23, and medium is 25 to 26, Size small plus has 19 or 20” length (scuff of neck to tail) and size small is 21 to 24". The tail measures 23" long (from the scruff of the neck). I bought both to be on the safe side. I tried on the small first and found it too large, as the description does not indicate that it should fit snugly. It will be clear to me if the small is too large if I send She wore the Small to bed as the Well & Wide to bed the morning of her surgery because I got the suits delivered the morning of her surgery Also bought an inflatable collar from this website to use as an accessory She couldn't turn around without hitting it against the sides of her crate while she was wearing it (it was a bit clumsy to wear). The spaces around her hind legs were quite wide, which made me paranoid she would be able to get to her stitches. I was unable to sleep due to my fear of her getting to her stitches. This was due to my poor planning, I should have ordered far in advance to ensure the size was accurate. I plan to purchase a XXL size soon. A 16-inch smaller than the small I will measure the 18" length (from scruff of the neck to tail) later today and hope that (1) the small neck fits well around the neck (2) the hind legs are not too snug and (3) the belly area does not feel too snug (I would rather avoid friction around the scar). Update will be made as soon as I receive the X-ray results That's not big! I had a minor update to provide (2 weeks Ok, so this is how it goes - She returned the small and medium as well, as they were too tight around her neck. Our first mobile unit washes every two days. Since then, we've bought another small to alternate. The laundry detergent I use is Ecos laundry detergent and I typically wash on the regular cycle/hot water setting. The stitches have shrunk a bit, but the nylons are still loose enough so that they do not rub against her skin. As seen by the fact that the color has not faded too much, the material is definitely of good quality. Update pictures were added so you can see how much smaller the leg space is as a result of.
She wears the dreaded cone and while it prevents her from biting or licking the wounds, it does not permit her to scratch My nerves were frayed by the time it came to keeping her paws away from the surgery sites at day two after surgery. When I discovered the Suitical Recovery Suit on Amazon, I was in a hurry to find an answer. Worried that she may bite a hole in it or that it will be too hot to wear, I purchased this for her. I'm glad I decided to give it a try and am glad I did. After five days postoperatively, my client has not even attempted to scratch me as long as I keep the suit on. As long as I am home with her during the daytime, I don't have to put the cone on her anymore. There does not appear to be a problem with overheating or even heat in general, but she is under air conditioning inside. My dog seems to enjoy wearing the suit, and I find it easy to put it on. A snap at the bottom holds the pullover shirt in place. It goes over the head like a pullover shirt. You can easily take a potty break while it's still attached. Stretchy and comfortable, the material hugs your body snuggly, and I believe that's why it provides some comfort. As long as she wears it, she is able to do everything she normally does without tying it up. The high neck on her suit helps keep her stitches covered, but allows air in so that there is no issue with the stitches healing. Part of the surgery was done on her shoulders, so the high neck makes it easier to keep her stitches covered without blocking her airway. I have not tested the blue pocket located on the inside bottom part of the suit, but it looks as if you could store a warm or cool pack in it, but I don't have any reason to try it out just yet. The extra large is a good size for a 78lb Golden retriever that is Her pants fit well, though they can become just a little bit baggy at While it affects how the suit functions, it doesn't affect how it looks. If you have a dog that usually is not a chewer, I would highly recommend it. In my opinion, after a dog has had surgery, with the suit on, it can't withstand being bit or scratched at because it won't hold up to biting. For my specific situation, it has completely eliminated all that, and my dog is now comfortable and happy after a 5-day stay post-op. A reminder *UPDATE With the suite, we were able to keep the wounds free of scratching and biting for 10 days following surgery. In spite of my love for this suit and my intention to use it again if the occasion arises, I'd like to share a few thoughts to make sure I am giving you information that will be helpful to you when you decide whether to purchase one or not. Item #1 It was never safe for me to leave my dog alone in the suit. This suit is made of a stretchy material that is a little thicker than a normal shirt. If a dog wanted to, it would be easy to chew a hole in the suit or even tear it to pieces. We kept my dog under constant surveillance at all times during the day, but she never attempted to escape. Item #2 Even though my dog slept with the suit on every night, I also put the cone on the night before I went to bed, and I took it off the next The fact that she would not chew the suit or her stitches in the middle of the night allowed me to sleep in relative peace. The #3 A few days into the 10 days, the bottom of the suit had become quite baggy. It appears I would have been just fine with a large size instead of an extra large size for my 78 pound.
It will continue to drain while it heals. With the cones on, she is miserable. While on Amazon, I was looking for a cone that would be more comfortable. The Suitical was the first one that showed up. The cone was exactly what I wanted. One is an extra large size that is a good fit for my 31-inch dog and 75-pound pet. I need a couple inches of length taken off the suit because it fits perfectly through the chest. I am fine with having a few extra inches given that I would prefer the suit to not be too There is a good amount of airflow because of the looseness. Upon ordering the suit, I lined the inside with odor-resistant materials Placing blocking pantyliners in the urinals to soak up As a result, Dharma has a better odor, is happier, and has dried out. If you could put an additional snap on the outside of the suit to hold the flap out of the way when she's doing her "business" then that would be the only change I would like to see. With the inside of the flap lined with the panty liners it is gross and hard to roll it in. As a result of my modification to the suit, she can take care of her business without me having to untie To make the suit fit better, I sewed a bigger opening and cut out the extra Worked like a charm! Since then, she can go in and out of the dog door on her own without scuffing up the suit, and she looks adorable when she wears it on walks. Whether the modification would work as well on a boy dog is unknown to me.
