Nutramax Laboratories Cosequin Soft Chews with MSM and Omega-3s, 120 Ct

My dog would have died if I had used a larger bag. We had a lot of success with this product when we bought it from Target. We switched to the Amazon larger bag and had good results until late last year, around December. His condition began to deteriorate. High fever, drooping eyes/inner eyelid droop, and lethargy are all symptoms. We stopped giving them to him and made an appointment with the veterinarian. I assumed he'd simply given up. Everything cleared up after I started taking steroids. br>br>Then, after he was back to normal in January, we put him back on this, and he went through the same ordeal a month later. It's time to visit the veterinarian again. Steroids and a return to normalcy br>br>We stopped giving him this product, which is identical to the soft chews of the same name and product that we used to buy at Target, except that they stank and were bone dry. br>br>I'm willing to bet that this version had some kind of contamination or issue. Since then, dogs have returned to normal.

Keep an eye out for hotspots. The subject for today is hotspots. For mild arthritis pain in his hip, I started giving this Cosequin supplement to my 6-year-old golden retriever. Until now, he's been a very healthy young man. I started him on these supplements, and within a week, he began scratching his face and developed a painful, bloody, and oozing hot spot on the right side of his face, just under his ear. After some research and reading what other dog owners have to say about this product, I've come to the conclusion that his hot spots are caused by an allergic reaction to something in it. I've stopped taking it, and we're now dealing with his injuries. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else.

I swear by Cosequin; it's incredible! My son has arthritis as a result of tearing ligaments a few years ago. He is a very active person, and as a result, he is prone to injuries. Last year, he jumped off the bed and injured his hip badly; the vet prescribed pain medication and advised him to rest. After three months of resting and not seeing any improvement, I decided to try cosequin and begin rehabilitation. My dog, I swear to you, wanted to play two days later and was finally putting weight on his leg. I gave him the maximum dose for 30 days and then gradually reduced it. He's doing fantastic and has regained his old "puppy" personality, which I've missed! This product has exceeded my expectations, and I will continue to purchase it for all of my dogs.

My husky- These chewables are a big hit with the shepherd mix. It's also nice not to have to crumble a dusty pill into his food, because despite the fact that the pills are technically "chewable," he despises them and will eat all the way around them until only a gooey, slobber-covered pill remains. The coated pill is still there- As a result, I'll have to crumble them so he'll have to eat something he obviously doesn't like. br>br>These have a strong fishy odor to them, which your dog will undoubtedly enjoy. The "resealable" packaging isn't really designed to be opened and closed the number of times that equals the amount in the bag, which is one complaint, but not one that would keep me from buying again. Although the packaging could be better, I simply open the package and dump the contents into a plastic jar with an airtight lid. As soon as I get them, I'll put a tight lid on them and throw away the original bag.

When we were discussing his arthritis and the possibility of spinal stenosis, my vet recommended the Nutramax product line to me. I was surprised to see his gait have more bounce in about 2 weeks after starting 4 chews a day (he's 100 and 11 years old). I stared and smiled ear-to-ear as he ran past me. ear. I cut them in half to give him the impression that he is getting more. Prior to purchasing these, I read a review in which the smell was mentioned. Do you have any experience changing diapers? Relax, this isn't going to be anything like that. We're on our fourth bag now, and we'll be ordering another one in about two weeks. One thing to keep in mind is to get as much air out of the bag as possible before sealing it. If you don't, they'll dry out.

So take advantage of it! I've been giving my dog joint supplements for almost two years and have avoided Cosequin due to its high price, but I've since learned that you get what you pay for. My dog has no trouble gobbling it up (then again, he's a pig, so I wouldn't take that into account). It may be a little more expensive than others, but it is consistent, and I have complete confidence that what is on the label is actually in the product. I'm not sure I'll use anything else in the future. Fortunately, Amazon has it at a lower price than any of the stores in my area.

I was skeptical at first, but my veterinarian advised that we give these a try before doing anything more drastic (or expensive). I'm overjoyed that we were able to do so! These have made a huge difference in my lab/australian shepherd mix, who is 6 years old. She used to have trouble standing up after lying down, or getting up and down from the couch and other places, but since starting on these, you can barely tell she had any problems. The only issue I have with these chews is that they smell HORRIBLE when you open the bag, but that doesn't seem to deter her from eating them, so that's all that matters.

After a few weeks, I'll return to edit this review, but I wanted to include a photo of the nutritional information on the bag of the bag, which I couldn't find before ordering. br>br>Edited on 10/15/19: My dog refused to eat it on the first day, so I tried hiding it in food and other things, but it didn't work. Then, after a few days, it's the best thing ever, and she can't get enough of it. br>br>I was hesitant to give this supplement to my dog because she suffers from chronic pancreatitis. My dog is taking this, as well as an omega 3 fatty acid supplement, as prescribed by our veterinarian. After a few weeks on this, she appears to be more playful, less grumpy, and overall happier.
