Questions & Answers

Has anyone noticed an increase in weight as a result of using these?

Our small dog is about the same weight as yours, but he's a tad overweight.

I'm curious about the origins of this product. ?

What a fantastic query! With so many product recalls or advisories involving products sourced from China and other countries, knowing that Glandex products are made in the United States is reassuring.

Is it necessary to keep these refrigerated once they've been opened?

I haven't kept my Sugar's Glandex in the fridge, but I have noticed that when the temperature rises above 68 degrees, they begin to dry out. If you live in a warm part of the country, I recommend refrigerating them. Summer temperatures rarely exceed 78 degrees on the Oregon coast, where I live. I hope this has provided you with the information you were looking for.

How much fiber is in a single chew?

A total of 0 exists. Each chew contains 26 g of fiber.

I tried it and had it checked by a veterinarian to see if it worked
5/5

Let's take a look back at our first visit to the veterinarian. We purchased this for our 148lb Great Dane and gave him two chews in the morning and two at night, but after speaking with the Glandex support team, I discovered that a total of six chews would be more appropriate for our dog's weight. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after about 100 chews with the product. However, only two days before his vet checkup, we increased the dose to 6, and we used the product for four weeks after learning that our dog had very full anal glands that needed to be addressed (I didn't want them expressed). Our vet visit today (2/28/18) revealed that his glands are softer and larger than before, but not overly full, which leads me to believe that this product is working for us. We did notice that his poop had become much firmer and bulkier, which is a good thing. Finally, our dog used to lick his buttocks quite frequently (at least once a day), but this has drastically decreased. I still catch him now and then, but with a little more time and the right amount of medication, we should be able to get him to stop and restore his glands' health. We switched to beef and liver powder, but I haven't used it yet, so I can't comment. Advantages: br>br>

We've been using the powder form for a while because it's less expensive, and we've decided to stick with it. Our 150-pound Great Dane only licks once or twice a month or so, and I think we could get him off the product, but it has other health benefits, so we've kept using it. Another thing is that we never had to express his glands. br>br>The powder's advantages: cons: he likes the tastebr>br>pros: he likes the value and the tastebr>br>contrary to popular belief, he likes the taste Some powder can stick to the food bowl, preventing him from getting the proper amount of glandex, resulting in waste. br>br>Overall, we're still pleased with glandex and its health benefits.

Our pet likes it! We don't usually review products, but this one might be useful to a pet owner, so we'll give it a try
5/5

Our most recent puppy was three months old when we got him. She began to leak after only a few months. We didn't look forward to taking our new pet to the vet on a regular basis to express the glands because we had to do so with our previous pets. Glandex was mentioned on the internet, and I decided to give it a shot. We've been giving it to our dog for more than two years and haven't had to express her glands yet. We give her the recommended dose on a daily basis, and she treats it like candy. We hope this information is useful to other pet owners, as it was to us, but please give it time to work!.

It appears that it is effective
4/5

However, I also use pumpkin and chickpeas! Monty, a pug, is one of my dogs. A "butt" problem exists in a brussels griffon mix. So. He eats canned pumpkin and chickpeas twice a day (high in fiber), and every other day I give him two "butt pills," or Glandex. (I used to do the Glandex every second and third days, but it's possible that wasn't enough. ) ) For the past 15 months, Monty has been free of anal gland problems thanks to a combination of pumpkin, chick peas, both BID and Glandex. We had a brief period of possible flare-up, but increasing the frequency of the "butt pills" to every day for a week or so appears to have resolved the issue. So, why did I only give it four stars? Monty will only eat Glandex chewables if I smother them in whipped cream from a spray can. Overall, it was a small price to pay to prevent him from having "butt" issues. Monty, on the other hand, may be spoiled because he refuses to eat the pumpkin or chickpeas without whipped cream.

They're a big hit with my dog! My dog's anal gland inflammatory condition had not improved despite three courses of antibiotics, so I started using this product, as well as the Glandex wipes, out of desperation
5/5

With bloody discharge and that odor, the dog was clearly in pain! The vet recommended flushing the glands with antibiotic solution first, and if that didn't work, surgical removal. General anesthesia is required for both procedures. We didn't want to go with either option, so we went with this. It took two weeks, but I started to notice a difference (most notably in the odor and the dog's behavior). The condition was minimal after about 5 weeks, and completely gone after 6 weeks. If your pet suffers from this condition, I strongly advise you to try these products first before turning to other treatments.

I wish I had known about these years ago
5/5

These chews are a big hit with me! I have a few small dogs of my own. Since I got him, he's had problems with his anal glands. I increased his fiber intake, which helped a little, but he still needed his glands expressed every four weeks or so. 6 weeks. I purchased another supplement that was supposed to help, but I never saw any results. I assumed I'd have to put up with it for the time being. I rescued a senior dog earlier this year who's anal glands were filling up every two or three days due to severe problems. We had to go to the veterinarian on a regular basis. I worked closely with my veterinarian, who recommended these supplements after I changed her diet. They thought we'd have to remove her glands to help her. I didn't want to go down that road, so I purchased these instead. I didn't hold out much hope, but after about a week and a half, they started working! It could take up to 6 weeks, according to the instructions. Since I've been giving these to my dogs for the past three months, neither of them has needed their anal glands to be expressed. I didn't think they'd work at all. I'm astonished, to say the least. I'll keep buying them and recommend them to everyone!.

Providing assistance to my Malti poos
5/5

So far, these soft chews have been a success. I'm the proud owner of two Malti-Potatoes. I was taking my poos to the vet every three weeks to have their anal glands expressed, and they were almost thirteen years old. I've had these for almost a month and haven't noticed much scooting. I'm overjoyed that my daughters are more at ease. Since I began using on 4/23/17, I have not taken them to the vet. (It's Tuesday, May 21st. ).
