This stuff is a lot stronger than it needs to be. When I first opened it to use on my dog, I was struck by how strong the smell was, as well as the bubbles on the surface. br>As I read the instructions, I thought it might be necessary to dilute it. However, the instructions only stated that 2 or 3 drops per eye should be used. As a result, I tried it. I immediately noticed my dog's eyes were watery, but assumed it was due to the extra moisture from the drops. My poor dog was rolling around on the floor, trying to rub his eyes, with tear cracks so large you'd think his entire head had been sprayed with water, 30 minutes later. br>I had to restrain him and squirt water into his eyes. br>After that, I decided to try it out on myself. It was excruciatingly painful. I gave it a few minutes to see if it would go away, and it did, but 15 minutes later the stinging was still present, so I gave up and rinsed my own eyes with water, but even then I had to hunt down eyedrops that were miraculously hidden in the back of my medicine cabinet to stop it.

Sorry, I really like a lot of Burt's Bees products, but not this one. 9% natural wasn enough for my adorable Basenji. My dog's eyes were irritated by benzalkonium chloride, which caused an allergic reaction. They simply exploded, turning red and swelled. My other two dogs tolerated it fine, but they do not require a daily eye wash like my female does. Just be cautious before putting it to use.

There was no tamper-resistant seal on the bottle top. A plastic bag was used to transport the item. The solution soaked the bag, which had a hole in it, because the bottle top was loose. What a disaster. I can't believe there was no seal on the top.

The eyes of a puppy are not gentle. This product was not sealed when it was delivered, but it is extremely durable. It has a rubbing alcohol smell to it. It's a lot more potent than my saline solution. My dogs dislike it when I use it, and it appears to irritate their eyes. I would not order this product again because we had a much better experience with another product.

There is no safety seal on this item. Use with caution as it is not sterile. Updated on September 28, 2014. The following is the original review. br>I used it for the first time today, and my dogs started pawing at their eyes right away. I put one drop in my eye and it stings like crazy. I then used a Rite Aid eye wash solution (for people) to rinse both of my eyes. The eye that only received the Rite Aid rinse appears to be normal. Even after all these years, the Burts Bee eye still stings like crazy. I'm not content with myself. This is a hazardous item. Instead, I advise you to: br>br> Eye Wash, Sterile (eye irrigating solution) at Rite Aid Pharmacy is $5. For a 4 ounce serving, 50 cents is required. It is human medical grade, sterile, and feels exactly like your own tears, and it costs half as much as Burt's Bees. br>br>I don't work for Rite Aid, but I am a huge animal lover. br>At the same time, the CVS brand is effective. br>The most important thing to remember is that you need a human-grade, sterile eye wash solution.

- br>Review from the start: br>Your vet may have advised you to rinse your dog's eyes with a Saline solution (as ours did), but you must be cautious and purchase the correct product. Search for saline solution on Amazon, and you'll find contact lens storage and cleaning solutions. That's not what you're looking for. You'll need PURE saline that hasn't been tampered with. br>br>Pure saline used to be available at CVS, but they no longer do, which is why I was pleased to discover this product. br>br>The issue is that this item lacks a safety seal, which it should have. The cap doesn't have an outer plastic seal. Underneath the cap, there is no inner seal to pierce or remove. When you remove the top, the solution starts to flow right away. br>br>Either one or both of these protective seals are present in every human-grade saline solution. For my dogs, I expect the same high-quality product, especially since it will be placed in their eyes. br>br>I've written to Burt's Bees and will post their response as soon as I get it. br>br>Note that the CVS saline I was buying was human-grade, had a safety seal, and cost about half as much at $4 per 4 oz bottle. I don't mind paying a little more for this item, but it should be of the same high quality, especially since saline is so cheap to make. br>br>*** Burt's Bees reaction: br>"We would be happy to assist you, but our pet care line is a licensed product. " br>br>I double-checked the bottle, and it does indeed say "Burt's Bees [trademark] used under license by Fetch for pets. " br>While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't provide an answer to my question. It is able to get away from it. br>br>Another option is to look on Amazon for: Eyewash that is free of germs.

Wow. So, my dog's eyes were terrible; when we got home one day, they had swollen! I'm not kidding when I say that no vet ever called me back; I couldn't get through to any of them and ended up on voicemail. He didn't seem to be in any pain or be concerned. The only thing that was red and swollen about him were his eyes. Thankfully, my family advised me to use an eye wash. While I was waiting for these vets to call me back, I wasn't sure what to call them. So, while I was waiting for a call, I did this and allergies in the hopes that it would help. br>br>I continued to use the eye solution, and his eyes are better than ever; I'm guessing it was pollen, and since he's a French Bulldog, he's prone to eye issues. br>br>About a week after they started feeling better. (I finally got a call back)br>br>Of course, I checked him out! This eye wash, on the other hand, proved to be a lifesaver!.

This is being returned because the sealed plastic bag was leaking inside. Also, because this item had been worn before, it already had a hole in the very top of the white cap. That would account for the leak, I suppose. When I was drying the bottle, the white cap fell off easily. I've bought this brand before and had to use a pin to poke a hole in the tip of the bottle before I could use it; the white cap on the bottle has never come off. Amazon, you need to improve by inspecting a small sample of the products you allow to be sold on your website.

My neighborhood is extremely windy. This is useful for rinsing my baby boy's eyes after he goes outside or takes a bath. Scotty's hair and allergy eye, which causes his eyes to tear up, are also treated with it. It appears to be beneficial to him, in my opinion. Naturally, he is unable to provide me with any information. I believe it does, however. And I'm relieved to know that Burt's Bees is concerned about my well-being and that of my pet.
