Greetings, the Akorn Artificial Tears will be applied to the eye. Pull down the lower lid of the affected eye(s) and apply a small amount (one-half teaspoon) of the medication. I've tried medicated drops prescribed by a veterinarian, as well as a variety of other ointments and drops. He willingly lets me put this in his eyes without making a fuss or putting up a fight. I can tell it gives him immediate relief, and once it's in, he feels a lot better. I give it to him three times a day and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with a KCS dog! For us, this has completely changed the game!.
I've tried everything for my dog's chronic dry eye, and this is by far the most incredible product I've ever seen!.
His eye was red and watery, and he had some bloody discharge. Before I took him to the vet, I wanted to give it a try. I used it twice a day for two days, and his eyes were clear. His eyes were even more bloody and watery! All you have to do is wash your hands and dab a small amount on the bottom part of your cat's eyelid with your finger. My veterinarian recommended it. When I put a drop in Myndig's eye, she doesn't seem to notice. Because it's an ointment, I put a small amount near the inner inside corner of her eye and gently close her eye while running my finger across the slit. Her blinking aids in the self-coating of her eyeball.
When the eye medication for my dog ran out, I bought two tubes of this medication. The only ingredients are Vaseline (also known as petroleum jelly) and mineral oil, which leaves a gooey film on his eye. I feel like a jerk for having to pay for this. My dog is in such bad shape!.
