Product Description

SCRATCH AND BITE RESISTANT - The inflatable collar is designed to protect your pets from injuries, rashes, and post-surgery wounds by preventing them from biting and licking their injured area or surgical site, allowing them to recover more quickly. Only animals with very short necks should use this. Please purchase in accordance with the size chart.
COMFORTABLE - The inflatable design and soft exterior material make it comfortable for your dog to wear, and it does not block their vision, allowing them to eat, drink, sleep, and play normally.
EASY TO STORE - When not in use, the inflatable recovery collar can be deflated and stored in a small space, and there is a zipper opening on one side that allows you to remove the bag and wash the outside cloth.
ADJUSTABLE - The opening of the collar has a strap that you can adjust for a perfect fit and place at the back of your dog's neck if your dog bites.
DURABLE AND STABLE - The premium protective collar is soft and washable, will not mark or scrape furniture, and can be stabilized by inserting your pet's regular collar through the inner ring loops. Due to the fact that every dog is different, the recommended size is only a suggestion and not a guarantee of fit. An inflator is not included in the package. I recommend that you continue to purchase items based on the size of your pet's neck. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Questions & Answers

Is it going to keep my dog from gnawing on her butt?

It varies according to the dog. A retriever's body can be folded very tightly, and this doesn't always work well in that area or with the hind legs. Better for wounds that are forward of the mid-ribs, such as those on the front legs.

What is the quality of the Valve?

I've had no issues with the valve, and it allows my corgi to roll over on his back while wearing it. He wears it while sleeping and rests his head against it.

What is the significance of the term "e collar" in this context?

It's an abbreviation for Elizabethan collar, which is how these recovery collars are known. The first were the plastic cones, which were designed to resemble the high ruffled style of women's collars in Queen Elizabeth's time (see a picture of Elizabeth on Google). I seriously doubt that this type of recovery collar was used on dogs in the mid-nineteenth century. They were not invented until the 1960s, so they are from the seventeenth century.

A true lifesaver! My dog was spayed and the cone was no longer working, so I'm glad I bought this product
4/5

She couldn't sleep because she despised it so much. So we looked into other options and found this product, which is essentially a dog travel pillow! It not only prevented her from licking her incision, but it also appears to be extremely comfortable! I only docked one point because the zipper was flimsy and came undone after a few days of heavy use. br>br>Check out the before and after photos below and make your own decision!.

Great E- An alternative to the collar! I absolutely adore this product! My dog Delilah was spayed, and I knew she'd have to wear a collar, but I didn't like the idea of one of the big plastic e-collars

collars. Our dog was able to eat, drink, sleep, walk, and move around freely while wearing this collar. She would hit a wall, a door frame, or my husband or me with it on occasion, causing no damage to the walls or pain to us. There are loops on the inside that you feed their regular collar through, buckle their collar, and then velcro the strap on the outside; she attempted to remove it several times but was unsuccessful. She didn't seem to notice it was on most of the time, though. She's an itchy puppy, so she was constantly scratching her neck because I'm sure it got itchy under there. I was worried she'd rip a hole in it, but it's held up well. This product comes highly recommended, as it is both affordable and of excellent quality. I also found it to be true to the size chart; she is 52 pounds and fits into the large size range on the chart, and it fits her perfectly; I was able to fit all five fingers between the collar and her neck, and it was still snug enough that she couldn't take it off. If she had to wear it for longer than the recommended 10 days, I would have felt completely comfortable leaving it on her! I hope I've been able to answer any questions you may have had!.

Dog- approved, and it's ideal for getting to stitches quickly

This thing was fantastic in the eyes of my Australian Shepherd. It's a lot easier to move around and lick his neuter incision without having to deal with the inconvenient Comfy Cone. br>br>He was a little taken aback by the Comfy Cone because he'd never worn one before and is a delicate, sensitive snowflake. We felt bad because of it. He'd wedged himself into the corner of his crate the night before and couldn't back up with the cone on, so he woke us up by scratching loudly on his crate's floor, thinking this would be a good solution that was a little less intense than the cone. It was a lot less intense than I expected! I awoke to find him licking a wet, raw incision that he'd been licking all night. He'd licked away two days' worth of scabbing and healing. br>br>On Sunday morning, instead of enjoying my coffee on the patio, I had the pleasure of spending half of the day at our emergency vet office, which cost me $260. This was a very expensive cone, especially when you consider the vet visit and antibiotics, and I didn't even get a full refund when I returned it (I had to pay for return shipping). This thing may work for a dog with a shorter body, such as a bulldog, but anything with a longish body will weasel its way around it. He's not a Doxie or a Basset Hound, but he's an Aussie. br>br>On the plus side, it didn't block his vision like it had said it would. If you want to make a fool of yourself, this is the place to go. If you're looking for a fun accessory for your dog to wear, this is a great option; if you actually want to keep the dog away from the healing area, buy something else. We were happy with the Comfy Cone. He sulked whenever he had to wear it once he became accustomed to it. This donut collar isn't exactly a bargain. I spent $267 to get it.

Excellent collar, though cat sizing can be difficult
5/5

While on a food trial for a possible food allergy, our cat requires this collar to keep her from pulling out her belly fur. The collar must be worn for at least a week, if not longer, so finding something she can tolerate is crucial. Because we all know how much they despise hard cones, I tried a soft material cone first. The poor cat was constantly tripping over it and was unable to move. I purchased a small for my 13-pound cat. It worked well at keeping her from reaching her stomach, but it was too tight around her neck. When she put it around her neck, the two open ends were still about an inch apart. After that, I went out and purchased a medium. While the medium appears to be a bit large for a cat (the larger collar makes it a little more difficult for her to maneuver), it is the perfect fit for her neck. I really wish they would just make a cat-specific one with a medium neck but a small inner tube. With a 13-pound cat, we've found that the medium works well. Much more tolerable than either the soft or hard cones. She's been wearing it for three weeks and is still able to eat, drink, and use the bathroom. In this time, I've only clipped her nails once, and she hasn't punctured or deflated it. I would strongly suggest it. br>Recent changes: It's been six weeks now, and the collar is still going strong. The medium was the perfect fit, as the small had rubbed some bald spots on her neck due to its tightness. Within a day, she had adjusted to the larger size, and it doesn't seem to bother her any more or less than the small did. 100% recommendation 100%.

Only use when you're keeping a close eye on the situation
4/5

After our puppy was neutered, we only used this to give him a break from the plastic cone. He had no trouble lifting the inflatable collar over his head (his neck measured about 13" and we used a large). He'd get his leg stuck trying to get out if his collar was put through the loops. He was more willing to leave the collar on and started napping with it after the need to lick his wound became less urgent after about 3 days. It relieved him of having to wear the hard cone all day and made eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom a lot easier. When he wasn't being watched closely, I continued to use the plastic cone. The collar was quite wide when it was inflated. He couldn't even get close to the wound.
