That is not the case. There is no point in buying them as they are cheaply made. It was my fault! I returned it!
Rather than using a regular trimmer, I recommend an electric one. Having a poodle means they are susceptible to ear infections due to the thick hair they have By using the hemostats in conjunction with the groomers ear powder, cleaning the ears is a breeze with little discomfort. I would not use them to remove hair from the feet.
The front and back of the plastic must be pulled apart. As long as you lock them, you won't have to worry about opening them and hurting your pup when you pluck his hair

My dog's long hair was matting deep in the canal of her ears and staying there while moisture stuck to it, cause her to get ear infections over and over again, so I had to use these on her out of fear of hurting her. After watching a few YouTube videos on how to use the hemostat properly, I was able to do that successfully. My hair stays in place thanks to this clamp but I have to re-clamp it every now and then The hair will come out easier if I place my hands properly. The clamp and release mechanisms are both easy to use.
As much white as there was in the canal, the dog sat still (trained for eye care), but the locking mechanism made it difficult to pull fast. I watched a video on YouTube where the groomer put the dog's ear hair on his back to make the process easier. The process went much faster as a result. As soon as I saw his pink ears I nipped him a little bit (no bleeding, but a tiny yell). The author let me keep going until I had completed my task. There was also gold dog ear powder in my package that I was supposed to sprinkle with my fingers. During the course of the day I did one ear. As part of my recovery from an ear infection, I did hair pulling with my finger on the other ear last week. It was my fingers that I used to remove the hair. The tool is more appealing to me. Despite the locking mechanism, I'm going to purchase/try to activate it without it because it locked up three times and I had to hold the dog down while un-locking it. With a tool, you can do things faster than with your The purchase was a good one.
While working for a vet, I had used better products than these. must admit it has been a while since I cleaned a dog's ears, but I didn't manage to catch enough hair to make this worth the money.
It is difficult to clamp to this clamping surface due to the poor mesh. There is no such thing as a medical grade version of these. A set that I had from a suture kit is quite sharp at the tip so I need to take some extra caution while using it, but it is in fact superior at grasping the hair so we need to spend a lot less time holding our dog down pulling the hair out. It does either way help a lot if you use ear powder.
Each of them appeals to me in some way. There is plenty of length, as well as stainless steel. My Standard Poodle will be happy with these.
As I have been trying to remove the hair from my puppy's ears with my hands, I cannot seem to get it out. Her ears were not amused by it and she refused to allow me to touch them. In addition to the powder, I also ordered the hemostat with which I was able to grab most of the hair and pull it apart. In addition, she seemed not to mind my doing it. Only downfall is that the hemostat locks in place so that you have to remove your fingers from the handle to release it.
Having an ear infection is no fun for me or my yorkie! I am told by the vet that if I want to prevent them, I must keep his ears free of hair. The hair on his body grows so quickly that he must go to the groomer weekly, which is both costly and a hassle. It's also a big turn off for him. I think this is a good solution! Some of the hair slips away when the grip is too loose, so I wish it was a little tighter.
I used it on my dog's hairy ears, and it worked great. This is nice and long since it allows you to get right up to.
