We are in shock that our Saint Bernard let an entire colony of fleas live in his house without asking us first. It was both an inconvenience and a nightmare. A simple dish soap, and even regular dog shampoo did not work to kill the fleas since the fleas would end up swimming in There wasn't enough strength in my hands to reign in the little swimmers trying to escape to live another day as well as trying to keep my poor pooch in the tub. Fleas come into contact with the lather/ soapy water and are killed as a result. The shampoo also removes the "dirt" from fleas, which is just a fancy name for "poop. No where in the product description does it say that it contains piperonyl butoxide. I read that this chemical can be toxic to both pregnant women and cats. It's been over nine hours since I bought this product. I bought it because it said it was safe to use on cats, but now I'm not so sure I want to use it on cats, so I just spent around $9. I probably will throw away this $00 for something I probably won't even use. I won't risk my safety by using this chemical, even if it can be classified as "safe" in certain quantities. The whole product page should have included an ingredient list before you purchase this stuff. Choosing to be cautious does not mean I will give it a low rating, but it would be nice to see all of the ingredients on the product page before purchasing. Oh well, I have a few friends who have dogs and are not pregnant, so maybe I can ask them if they can use it. Also, I guess I'll keep searching for something that can work for my cats and me.
There are a lot of them in the summer. It has worked well in conjunction with Preventic collars, and this shampoo has really helped with the problem.
