Both are completely sealed, and once you remove them from the sealed package, you must stretch them out before they can begin to work. However, the 7-month period begins when you place the collar on the dog, not when you buy it.
It will, however, most likely be large.
My dog had fleas, so after bathing and combing her, I put on a new flea collar, checked her coat frequently, and kept an eye on her when she scratched (she, too, has allergies). I believe the collar's contents coat her fur, and her movements aid in that coating to ward off fleas, etc. So far this spring, no fleas have been found. Make sure the collar is stretched before putting it on your pet, and check your pet's coat frequently to make sure it's doing its job. Note: I had a collar that only lasted three months, rather than the seven months that it was supposed to.
It lasts as long as the package claims and works flawlessly.

I just received word that the active ingredient in this product may have caused the seizures that led to the euthanasia of my 4-year-old Shepard/Rott mix dog Belle. According to the report, it affects only a small percentage of dogs and causes seizures that last a lifetime. Because my veterinarian promotes this product, she didn't mention it, but that's between her and me now. Just keep an eye out.
My 14-year-old golden retriever began vomiting and refusing to eat after six days. The collar was taken off. Three days later, he passed away. My six-month-old lab began to foam at the mouth after six days. The collar was taken off. She had diarrhea for two days but is now in good health. My 8-year-old cat became ill as a result of the feline collar, and she hasn't eaten in a week, puking, and hiding.
ticks. I inquired with my veterinarian about going "old school" and trying Hartz. He stated that there was no reason not to do so, and that it should be changed every four months. The price is around $4. With each one lasting four months and costing only 00 each, this is a significant savings. Oh, I take my dog for three daily walks through the woods and fields, and when I went in for a routine check, the vet said she had fleas. Free of ticks! These are five stars in my opinion.
br>I am the proud owner of two canines. Fleas and ticks are a common occurrence because I live on a farm. br>Although my dogs are mostly indoor dogs, we do take them for long walks around the property. In less than an hour, these flea collars began to produce incredible results. My dogs stopped scratching almost immediately, and after a thorough brushing, there were almost no fleas left. I only came across a few that were either dead or dying. br>They're made of a stretchy but sturdy material that's also soft, so they don't irritate the dogs' necks, and they have a slight scent, which is nice. br>I adore this product and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!.
The vet recognized the problem right away and was familiar with the Hartz brand, so $300 in vet bills and my poor dog on meds later, I'm kicking myself for not doing more research. This brand is supposed to be EPA registered, and they will be receiving a complaint about it.
The riveting that holds the flea collar and the flea collar latch together is uneven and half-comes apart. br>br>I've ordered these before and not all of them have been poorly defective; the reason I'm giving one star is primarily due to the lack of communication options to get a new replacement or the ability to easily contact the seller to request a replacement; this is the second time this has happened and I'm forced to just let this company take no action.
I had three dogs; one of them, a Saint Bernard, couldn't walk for about a year, so I'd carry him outside and back in so he could relieve himself. He must have come into contact with fleas while lying on the ground. Fleas were found on my other dogs as well. Yes, this collar helped with the flea problem, but you still have to bathe them once a week with flea and tick shampoo, vacuum every other day, and stay on top of the situation. We used to have a lot of fleas here, but now we don't have any!.
This isn't going to make the fleas vanish in the blink of an eye. This is in addition to flea baths and flea sprays that I use on a weekly basis. Fleas have infested our neighbors' dogs, so I must be vigilant in addressing the problem, and these products alone will not suffice. It states that children should not touch the collar, which is difficult to do when the children are constantly playing with the dogs; however, we must ensure that we wash our hands after touching them.
