After we fed our new puppy his first meal, I wasn't sure whether I would really need or use this. The bowl has caused his eating to slow down tremendously for the past couple days and his energy level is so high that he actually has to work to eat! I think it may be helping that he inhaled his dinner so frequently! I am so glad I made.

That may be true in the sense that the bowl as a whole holds 2 cups, but the controlled portion of the bowl only holds 1. The first half of this treat can be consumed by my dog easily, making this pesky treat useless.

I like this bowl because it works well The Mini Australian Shepherd we have weighs 40 pounds and tends to eat very fast. Two times per day, we give her 3/4 cup of dog food (see picture). So far, this bowl has proven to be durable and my finicky dog enjoys eating out of it (each of us have a stubborn dog that won't eat from a regular metal or ceramic dog bowl). Although it is incredibly light, it does not weigh much at all. However, the shallow bowl gives it a strong grip, but it does not stay in place very well. His stomach can only fit about a cup of food at a time, and he so far hasn't shown any signs of obesity.
