This was purchased for our male Jack Russell and female Rat Terrier. I was enamored with the @ design and had no idea how difficult it would be to clean. Raw meat, boiled eggs, rice, and fish oil are all ingredients in our homemade dog food. We used to clean our bowls by swiping them with a bleach solution and hot water. It seemed difficult at first, but using a baby bottle brush with a sponge on the end made it a breeze. They both adore food and eat it so quickly that they can't keep it down on occasion. They haven't inhaled their food in about a week after switching to this new bowl. It functions admirably. Both of them are now taking their time. Another point to consider. Rubber inserts were included in one of the bowls for non-slippery surfaces. One has slip-on rubber feet, while the other has stick-on rubber feet. I contacted the seller, who was delighted to send me replacement feet as well as a bonus for my trouble. I can't say enough about how pleased I was with the response and how highly I recommend this company.

5 to 3. It's only 5 minutes until my Yorkie's mealtime. I hadn't noticed any issues yet, but I was concerned about my toy Yorkie's speed with which she consumed her food. I timed her and discovered that she finished her entire meal in 1 minute and 12 seconds. I ordered this bowl based on the reviews and the fact that it was cheaper here than anywhere else at the time. br>The first day we used it, it took her 2 minutes 44 seconds to eat, which still seems fast, but now that we've used it for a few days, it takes her around 3 minutes 44 seconds. If she has to chase the kibble around for a few minutes, it will take her 30 minutes to eat. We feed a mix of kibble and wet food, so it had to be easy to clean, and this does just that. br>It even came with an extra rubber "foot" in the packaging, which I appreciate because one of those always seems to get misplaced.

Previously, my 15-pound sheltie would gulp down her food, then experience stomach upset or vomit. Over the last few years, this has gotten progressively worse. This bowl was discovered after a thorough search. She handled the first attempt at eating from it admirably. It made her eat more slowly, as she went from gulping down her food in minutes to taking 20 minutes. She's gained some speed, but she's now chewing her food in between bites and moving it into a graspable position in her mouth with her tongue. She also feels fuller with less food (she needs to lose three pounds). This works, but keep in mind that the size and complexity of the bowl's maze are important factors in its success. The smaller dog (litter mate) was perplexed and refused to eat from the bowl. I'm going back to get her a bowl maze that's a little easier. She needs to slow down a little, but not nearly as much as a large dog. It's worth a shot if your dog eats too quickly and/or needs to lose weight. Our sheltie has developed an interest in playing the eating game.

Even though it came up when I searched "slow feeder cat bowl," I couldn't find much information about whether it was safe for cats. For the most part, everything appears to be as described, but none of my four cats of various shapes and sizes were able to get the food out of this bowl and eventually gave up, which is saying a lot because they clearly enjoy their food (or I wouldn't be buying this). I guess I'll just have to save up for the more expensive ceramic ones.

We have a larger version of these for the big dogs, but the spaces were too large for the small dogs to notice a difference. br>So I went on here looking for smaller ones and found these; they had good reviews, so I figured we'd give them a try. br>They're ideal for small dogs because they've slowed them down to the point where they're no longer hacking up food. They're also very sturdy; I've stepped on them a few times now (because my daughter can't be bothered to pick them up after she feeds her dogs) and they show no signs of wear, unlike some others we've had. They've also been tossed around the house (apparently because they resemble Frisbees) and are still in great shape. They also don't leave a stain on the table like some of the other dishes we've tried. Finally, the rubber grips are the cherry on top; no more chasing the bowl around the floor (not to mention when you step on them, which you will!).

It's light and flimsy, with protruding plastic pieces that serve as excellent handles for the dog to grab and flip the bowl. In the attached photos, you can see how easily it scratches and is not cleanable. The puppy was in a puppy pen and had clearly ingested all four nonskid strips, which wouldn't have prevented the bowl from sliding anyway because it is so light. The one with the four nonskids is for an older dog who doesn't flip her bowl, but you can see how scratched it is and how it doesn't clean.

My dog appears to swallow food whole, causing him to vomit shortly afterward, and he also has a tendency to overeat. This bowl has come in handy on numerous occasions. Because my Archie boy has to work for his food, he has slowed down a little. For two bowels, this is a fantastic price. I saved one for later and have been using the other for a while. It appeared to me that cleaning it would be extremely difficult. After he eats, I give him a hot water rinse. When my daughter didn't clean it out as thoroughly as I do, I assumed it would be more difficult to clean, but everything came out easily. My son hasn't thrown up since we got it, so I'm very happy with it. For each meal, we use it three times per day. I feed a raw diet consisting of chicken, rice, vegetables, and other foods, and I have never had any problems with food being left behind or scattered outside the bowel. It took a few days for my dog to figure out how to eat from it without strewing it all over my kitchen floor.

I was blown away by the quality of this feeder. I was anticipating something made of flimsy plastic. It's small (it can only hold a half cup of food) and the maze is designed for dogs with narrow snouts, but my retriever mix puppy has no trouble getting her nose and mouth into the bowl and gobbles it down in about 30 seconds. On the bottom of the bowl, there are four removable rubber "feet. " They might get loose, so keep an eye on your dog to make sure he doesn't swallow them. (One of the rubber feet was missing the day after I finished this review. ) I believe it was swallowed by the dog.
