The item is what it claims to be. The one thing I didn't like about mine is the fact that it came with 1 non-essential Suction cups or other pads are not needed with the slip pad. I looked in the package and I couldn't find the other items, but the bowl was fine. The package took a while to arrive and the contents were pretty beat up, but the bowl was fine. It is made out of a hard plastic that appears to be durable. It's smooth on the inside but has a matte finish on the outside. Actually, I purchased this for some puzzle stimulation for my Savannah monitor (which is about a year and a half old). () He can't quite fit his nose in to start the process, so he has to try and get the cricket I can see it being a good challenge for dogs and other kinds of animals.

I was surprised how much slower my dogs were after using these bowls. There are four little schnauzers in our household and three of them are always in a race to the finish line. My guess is that this will be so much better for their digestion as I swear they were eating so fast they might not even remember what they ate. For them, it took about two days to learn how to navigate the bowls, but they will no longer be able to inhale their food like they used to. You can hand wash the bowls easily by swishing them around in hot water and dish soap. You don't need to scrub. Although they are not the heaviest bowl on the market, they have little rubber bars on the bottom that help them stay in place. There is a warning that these are not microwaveable and are only hand washable. If you are a fast eater, then these are for you.
