That's something I'm not familiar with. I suppose you could use it to tie a dog outside while wearing it. However, a six-foot leash and a walk with the four-legged companion are recommended. The best friend of a four-legged creature. <3
We purchased the small size, which fits our 10 pound dog comfortably and securely. poodle- mix of brichons She's a very active girl, and this is the first harness she's been able to get on without squirming out of. It's also available in an extra-small size that might be better for your 8-pound dog. dog.
My dog is wearing the XS and has a 11" neck and a 17" girth (around her middle). Because the harness does not go around the neck, the size of the neck is irrelevant.

My rescued Mini Schnauzer, who was raised in a puppy mill and is wary of everything, backed out of this harness twice yesterday in a matter of seconds. Both times, he was supervised, and I was fortunate enough to be present. I was fortunate in that I was able to catch my stray rescue dog before he bolted. For the past three weeks, I've been wearing this harness. One of the flaws in the design is that the straps loosen up over time, requiring constant adjustment. This is a problem with the design that needs to be fixed. It's also possible that the harness is too soft, making escape easier. br>br>I have NO CONFIDENCE in this harness and would not recommend it for a rescue dog or any dog with fear or other issues, as the dog can easily back out of the harness if they panic. Please do not buy and use this harness assuming that your dog is safe and cannot get out. It is not, as claimed, escape proof. br>br>For the record, my rescue Mini has an 18-inch chest. I was 5 feet tall and wore a size small. br>br>In the future, I'll use a leash on my dog's collar in addition to the leash on the harness, so that I have a backup system in case he tries to escape the harness. I'll look into other harnesses as well. br>br>While most harnesses aren't truly escape proof, this one advertises itself as such, which it isn't.
I've tried a lot of different collars and harnesses for Agatha, and this is by far the best. My other Chi is decked out in the Gooby Choke Free Step- He looks great in Comfort X, but it doesn't fit her. Her chest is large, and the sizing on this was strange because her measurement is 17", and the small size is 17- Despite the fact that it is 19", it seems to just fit, rather than being on the small side as one might expect; in any case, it is a good fit. I had to readjust the little plastic sliders for loosening and tightening a couple of times because they slipped and became uneven, but they're back in place now, which is good because they seem flimsy and I don't want them to break. I really liked the color orange, but it wasn't available; Now for the important part: this turquoise turned out to be an excellent choice. When she lunges for another dog, the harness allows me to keep control of her. I pull up on the retractable leash and shorten it, and she is no longer able to do it. And she won't be able to get out of this harness as easily as she did from others or from her collar. I like that her neck isn't restricted in any way. Also, because this harness lacks a long piece that connects to the leash, nothing hangs down when the leash is removed. Not that I wear the harness all the time, but if I do, it is free of obstructions. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, and she won't object to it being worn.
br>She insists on telling you that this is the most comfortable harness she's ever worn. br>She despises harnesses, but if she had to wear one, she'd choose THIS one. br>It's simple to put on and remove. Also, it's incredibly cozy! Give your favorite dog a treat when you take him or her for a walk by getting him or her one of these. YOU'LL BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES!.
While I believe the concept of this no-escape harness is sound (the harness tightens slightly as the dog pulls, leaving no gaps for the dog to escape through), the harness's quality and durability are poor. On September 5, 2018, I purchased two of these. My 10-pound dog ran out on his lead in January, and one of the harness's plastic tabs broke. As a result, the tab to which you attach the end of the lead/leash literally snapped in three pieces, allowing him to roam freely. The strap on my 12 pound dog's second harness is about to tear (pictures attached) - When my husband took the dog off the leash, he noticed - I'm glad he caught it because it appeared to be on the verge of breaking all the way through! On several different pieces/materials on this harness, the overall quality and durability is very poor. I would never recommend or purchase this product again.
I had high expectations for this harness, but after only a few uses, I noticed skin burn beneath my Dachshund's front arms. I tried adjusting, but it didn't work. I wish I could come back, but it's too late. I strongly discourage you from doing so.
This harness's concept appeals to me greatly. There are two flaws in it, however. 1) The rubber 'tabs' that are supposed to keep the harness in place don't stay put. They slide up, causing the dog's harness to become loose. Hand-tightening them is something I do on a regular basis. To make the harness more secure, pull them down. 2) The material used to construct the red portion of the harness was a poor choice. It's a woven pattern made up of tiny'strings' or something similar. Scratching will be done by dogs. My small terrier tore the harness up after scratching it a few times the first day she wore it. I'm attempting to upload a picture of the current state of the harness.
but. . . . This is without a doubt the best harness I've found for my dog, and I've tried a lot of them. br>br>The reason I didn't give it five stars is that after the dog wears it for a while and the material stretches, a dog CAN GET AWAY from it, especially if you're pulling a dog toward you. br>br>However, many products lose their effectiveness after a prolonged period of use. I write this just to say that no dog owner should ever put their trust in any harness 100%. This harness, on the other hand, is superb. When I first purchased a harness from this company, the material frayed almost immediately. It was a purple harness, and I'm not sure what material it was made of. This one is much better because it does not fray. br>br>This harness is also very comfortable for my dog, and it does not irritate him.
