You're not going to be pleased with yourself if you're wearing 18 pounds around your neck! Please believe me when I say that I am telling you the truth. My Chihuahua weighs 9 pounds, and my neck and back are screaming STOOOOP! after an afternoon of errands with him in the sling. Don't be so hard on yourself!
If you want to keep your back in good shape, I strongly discourage you from doing so. For several years, I wore a sling around my neck and back while carrying my 9-pound Chihuahua around everywhere I went. Please do not introduce your dog to the sling (get him used to it and he will fall in love with it). You won't be able to go back! ) It's in your best interests! 😉
My veterinarian issued me with a letter, and my therapist also issued me with a letter, both stating that my dog is an emotional support animal. I've flown, visited restaurants, churches, and schools with my four-legged companion because of this paperwork. Of course, I live in the Los Angeles area, where dogs are held in higher regard. He's six, and it allows him to ride close to my heart, safe in the knowledge that he can see where we're going! There's a place where you can keep your valuables secure. If he jumps out, there's a strap that connects to his leash harness to keep him from getting lost. which would be difficult because he relaxes into it when he sits because it's deep enough. It moves him into a more comfortable position with a gentle nudge. On my shoulder, it's extremely comfortable and light. The SERVICE DOG tag, which is soft and detachable, is displayed prominently. br>In our previous carrier, which was a traditional adjustable crossbody strap bag that hung above my hip and caused him to swing around when I walked, he was a little nervous. It was a designer bag that I received as a gift from the ASPCA when I donated. They endorsed the design in such a strong way. br>It is extremely soft and light. As a result, it's not too taxing on my shoulders. But it's a substantial fabric with a soft lining, so it's also sturdy, and it provides him with some padded protection. br>Between L. and I, we travel a lot. & It's a very efficient way to transport him in NYC, doesn't count as an "Xtra" bag, and fits in my purse during a flight. Please reconsider your position. To begin, I'd like to state unequivocally that the sling DOES perform its function. It does provide a mode of transport and carrying, but it is far from perfect. There are a few things about the sling that I don't like, such as the fact that it isn't adjustable, and because of my small stature and my dog's weight (12 pounds), I can't use it. ish lbs), the sling sags along my hip line, which is extremely uncomfortable. Although it was very cute riding around campus on my bike with him in the sling, he seemed to enjoy it, despite the fact that getting him into it properly was a HELL of a task. What a pain in the neck.
I ordered this after trying COUNTLESS slings and packs for my small chihuahua. It's definitely one to keep! I feel at ease. He's at ease in his own skin. It's not adjustable, and I prefer to wear him higher on my chest, but that was a simple change to make. We added three large snaps across the top for added security; however, only one snap is used at a time, depending on how he positions himself in the sling. ***BUT*** do you think you could make one in gray? I'd like one of these so I don't have to keep rolling my hair off all the time. I strongly recommend this product!.
This sling is perfect for carrying my Yorkie. She appears to be quite comfortable there. She prefers to be near her mother, so this is a good way to keep her close. It's so soft that it stretches when the dog is in it, so the handle should be a little shorter, but I keep my hand under the bag to keep the dog from falling out, and I've only used it a couple of times. My dog weighs 11 pounds, so I'm guessing it's not very secure; however, if your dog is lighter and smaller, it might work better for you.
The fabric is thick and comfortable, but because my dog is 9 pounds, she sags in it. She also gets hot in it on really hot days because it's like a sweatshirt. The tag is well-made and easily recognizable. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
