As we had an appointment to see the veterinarian, we put our cat in the carrier and took him in We noticed that his nose was bleeding and that there was skin hanging down from it when we got into the car. As we examined him, we discovered that he had scraped the entire first layer of skin from his nose when sticking it through one of the oval-shaped holes in the wall. A kennel's side had air holes in the shape of hearts. The incident between this cat carrier and an animal is very disappointing and I am shocked to hear it took place. I noticed that the holes were in fact very sharp and dangerous after further inspection. It is a pity that we can no longer use this carrier because it places the cats in an unsafe position in which they may suffer a terrible injury. I really hope that this will not pose a threat.

She seemed to like it, and even fell asleep in it sometimes. The only issue I had was that when I shut the front door recently in order to prevent her from bolting when her vet entered the room (her vet comes to the house), she got very upset and had Initially it seemed that the inside of a crate should be a safe place, but as I felt around inside, I realized that the holes that let the pet out and vent are ragged and sharp. The carrier is scheduled to go to the dump at midnight for trash pickup since I consider this extremely shabby and unsafe workmanship.

A used dog kennel was clearly inside the "new" kennel, and the fecal matter was smeared over the inside. Working in veterinary medicine, I have seen many dirty carriers in my time. It was clear that this one had been used, pooped in, and returned without being cleaned. As well as the top handle, it lacked. My boyfriend and I adopted a six month old kitten a year ago, and of course we needed a carrier for her, so we went to our local Petmate store to pick one up. During her growth period, we realized the dress was starting to feel small. When we adopted our second kitten last September, we knew that we'd have to get something bigger so we could put both of the cats in it if necessary. When we took her to Florida in it, she could lay down perfectly well but there was no room for her to stand. As of the end of November, we had decided to go to Minnesota for Christmas and we were taking the cats with us. So I went to Amazon and looked at dog It was a bigger version of our old kennel, and we debated whether to get this or the Aspen Pet Taxi Fashion Kennel, also by Petmate. It turns out that both of the carriers we looked at were of the larger size rather than the There was a 24" carrier in this size. It was great that the Aspen Pet Taxi had two compartments on the top for treats, but since we ended up opting for this carrier, we decided to stick with it. In my opinion, this was a very sensible choice, as the top door lets more light in and makes the carrier appear more open than a small, cramped Additionally, the two door option allows us two different ways to put the cats in, and we have found that using the top door makes life easier (no more struggle. One of the biggest pluses is that the carrier is not only large enough for a cat to sit upright but it has ample room for both of our cats to move around comfortably. In the end, the cats stayed in the carrier for most of the trip to Minnesota, but I believe that was due to feeling more comfortable in the carrier than in the open car as we would leave the carrier open at home and let the cats explore as they pleased. The price of this carrier was only $28, which in my opinion, was an absolute steal. I plan to buy another one at a lower price when the price closer to $30 becomes available because I would like to buy one for each cat. There is only one downside - this is such a large bag and the cat has plenty of room so it is very unsteady to carry since the cat switches her weight back and forth. It appears that the issue of sharp vent holes reported in 2017 and 2018 has yet to be I reviewed the reviews of the vent holes and checked mine before assembly based on the concerns of dangerous vent holes. Among the vent holes I found, there was one with a sharp jagged edge that could have cut my cat's nose if not careful. The surface did not come out smooth even after I sanded it down but I'm very dissatisfied I would give this crate five stars if it wasn't for the poor quality control issue regarding the sharp jagged vent hole. The crate was easy to assemble, I liked the secure latches on the doors and my cat seemed to enjoy it. It is imperative that anyone purchasing this kennel inspect the vent holes on the inside prior to putting their pet in it.
