I like this so much! Although it does have a bit of a hard/crunchy feeling (almost like it's filled with tissue paper) to it, it's not as if you'd want to use it as a blanket, so it doesn't bother me much. It's not what I expected but that's pretty much what it would require to be waterproof, in which case I love how easy it is to wash and dry this.
