Unlike the liners I normally use, my liners come with a slicker style plastic backing. The Velcro tabs hold it in place, but it is not firm, and the one in my carrier does not become slack while I'm carrying it. The pads fit, but they are not the ones that came with the bag from Sherpa. faux lamb wool cover is inserted inside a hard stability board that does not come with the bag. As replacement pads for the bags, these pads are soft and do not add any structural support or foundation. You can think of it as putting a regular soft duffel bag on your pet. Due to the fact that these pads are closed, you will not be able to insert a stabilizer and the Velcro strips on the bottom will not line up with the Velcro strips inside the bag, so they will give no assistance in attaching to the bag. As for the medium size replacement, it is similar to the original, so it will fit if your bag has a permanently attached stability board. If you do not have an attached stability board, you need to use a different liner. As a result of my research, I contacted the Sherpa company, and they are sending me a liners and stability boards for free.
I can carry it easily in my bag. There was a lavender smell to it that I didn't like, so I would have given it a 5 star.
