Coolaroo beds are a huge hit with my dogs. They can scratch a hole in them no matter how chew proof they are, but I'm not sure if they are chew proof. As soon as a small tear occurs it expands at a rapid rate. It's not a problem, because all dog beds need to be replaced every so often and these tend to be really popular among pets. The fabric can be machine washed, but it will need to be stretched tight after washing in order to put it back on the frame.
