As my Yorkie is only 5 pounds, I bought the small size. However, I also did not want the sweater to go all the way to his buttocks. It passes through the middle of his back a little. It is recommended that you upsize if you want the fit like the picture of the stuffed animal.
There is no fit for very small women. Also, I bought an XL for my 35 pound pup and it was too small for him as well. This is very good for dogs that are small!
