My husband and I have washed and dried ours a few times and it hasn't (I bought it in late December. This year (2017). the fleece into the dryer causes very minor pilling, but the fleece is still quite soft. As another customer suggested, it would probably keep nice and soft if it is air dried. Generally speaking, this product is a terrific item! I am pleased with the result. In addition, my pup is nice and A second will be purchased so that I can rotate during the washing process.

I have a Pitbull who is 26 inches long (collar to tail beginning) and a girth of 34 inches. About 5'' tall. It says I should wear a 6XL based on the chart. The 2XL I bought him was, however, too small for him. Because I went down four sizes, I was concerned that it might be too small for him, but it fit perfectly.
