It's designed to protect your dog's feet from hot concrete or freezing ground in the winter. This winter, I used it, and I continue to use it now. I have three dogs and a pool, but none of them have ever developed blisters. Unfortunately, because they can't communicate, I can't tell you how it feels on them, but there are no sores or injuries.
This is not something I would use to keep my dogs from slipping inside the house. It may, in fact, aggravate the situation. It has the consistency of thick petroleum (petrol). It has a jelly-like consistency and soaks into their pads, protecting them from the cold and freezing snow. You can get small rubber booties for dogs (the ones that look like balloon materials but are thicker-- If your dog is willing to wear them). Alternatively, if you're in the same boat as us, who own an older dog- We went out and bought a bunch of rubber-backed garden runner rugs and strewn them all over the place to help our old dog get around and avoid slipping and falling in his final years. It isn't perfect, but it gets the job done in some cases.
Yes. It's simple to reduce the size of the container.

I use this to protect my dog's feet when we go jogging. It appears to be functioning properly. br>br>TMI alert: I also use this to keep my nipples from chafing. I do a lot of running, and my shirts irritate me. This is more effective than Vaseline and does not stain my shirts. Also, if you're looking for chafed nipples, don't Google it.
Background information: I live in Minnesota with my dog, a 56-pound Wirehair Pointing Griffon (sporting breed). Winter has arrived early this year in this part of the country. On the streets, there is a lot of snow, ice, and sand/salt.
Use: I use it on her paws before going bird hunting, hiking in the riverbeds, or just taking a stroll down the street. br>Finally, the following are the outcomes: Very well done. I've been using it for years, with mixed results when I tried other brands. A 2- Mushers Secret protects her from the crud during a 3-mile walk on salty, icy streets. When you return, all you have to do is wipe down the table with a towel. It comes in handy when going on an off-leash romp through the riverbed or bird hunting in the snow. Prevents dry, cracked paws. I still wear booties when going on a long hunt in the snow, but I always coat the pads first. Notes: br> This item should not be used indoors. It's slick, so your dog will slip if he walks across a hardwood or tile floor, and it's not a one-size-fits-all solution for ice and snow buildup. However, removing excess hair from your dog's pads and massaging it deep into the pads/between the toes can be very beneficial. Obviously, the more you work your dog in difficult situations, the more you'll need to reapply. If you notice your dog licking it, don't be alarmed. According to the product's website, it's all natural and won't harm you. My own dog can attest to this. It's something I've used for quite some time. She licked it nearly off the first couple of times she used it out of curiosity. She has grown bored with the procedure and no longer bothers. I've even used it to treat bug bites and go for a walk on hot days in the summer. br>I hope that this information is useful.
We've been using Musher's for a few years and are very happy with it. All year long, we apply it to our dogs' paws. Our soil contains a lot of clay, which dries their paws out faster in the summer than it does in the winter. We rub the girls' paws every night, which they enjoy and helps keep them soft. When you get it on your hands and their paws, it feels a little greasy at first, but it quickly absorbs into their skin, and it doesn't stain their bedding or carpeting (mine is brand new). br>My larger dog has developed crusty sores and lesions all over her body due to a lymphoma type of skin cancer. I use the mushers on her'spots' to keep them soft and promote healing, which reduces pain and makes her feel more at ease. br>I can't think of anything I don't like about it because it's made my hands soft from applying it to my daughters. br>I have given this product as a gift to my puppy-owning family and have recommended it to my friends.
I'm confident that the product serves its intended purpose admirably. It doesn't do a good job of protecting my pets' paws from the scorching pavement of summer. I recommend sticking with doggie shoes and taking the time to accustom your pet to wearing them, as the one star rating is solely for performance on hot pavement, not salt and ice. Perhaps in the fall, winter, or spring.
This is some of the most amazing stuff you'll ever see! Seriously, I'm amazed at how much of a difference this has made for my dog. Not only does it keep the annoying snow from clumping up in her paws, but I also use it to keep her pads from tearing on hikes. That was a major issue for us, and it kept us from taking on more difficult hikes. Her feet bleed from the boots, so that's out, but this stuff is amazing. After our first creek crossing and patches of snow, I'm surprised it didn't come offâ 10 miles later, she's perfect! She can now hike, scramble, run in the snow, and do whatever she wants. It's a lifesaver to have this stuff on hand.
I've been using this on my german shepherd for several months, putting it on her nose (which gets very chapped otherwise) where it works much better than plain vaseline. I also applied it to her elbows, which are prone to cracking and drying. And now that it's been a few months, something wonderful has happened - Her elbows, which have been covered in scaly skin for years, are beginning to regrow fur! Her elbows are starting to grow back a little fur, though it isn't much. Of course, I use this on her paws; the amount I use depends on the weather. her on her feet This is something I use on a daily basis when there is salt on the roads in the winter. I ride it about twice a week in the spring when the roads are nice. In the summer, when the roads are hotter, I use it three times. 4 times per week is a good number to aim for. Her average walking speed is three miles per hour. Every day, you should walk 6 miles. She used to get sore spots on her feet before using the product and couldn't walk as much as she could before (especially on her back pads). Now I just get the product out, and she lies down and rolls over to have her feet done; she's discovered that it helps:.
Musher's Secret is a fantastic book. Arizona is where I currently reside. It climbed to 116 this week. and swung back and forth between 110 and 110. I have two Boston Terriers as well as a swimming pool. On part of the pool, there is Kool decking, but it is followed by stamped concrete. The Kool decking is comfortable to walk on in bare feet, but the stamped concrete is hotter than the weather. Their paws get blistered. I was putting baby socks on their feet until they were one year old, then wrapping vet wrap around the front and back of the cuffs. However, putting socks on eight paws on a daily basis is a pain. When I first heard of Mushers Secret and saw the label, I knew I had to have it! It's designed to keep sledge dogs' paws from becoming iced over. However, it protects the dogs' paws from the hot asphalt in Al's yard. Although my back yard does not have asphalt, the cement does get hot. It even states that it can be used on horse hooves. So, this jar weighs 1 pound, but I'm going to buy another for my horse because he also needs this for his feet. This product will help to prevent his hooves from drying out and cracking. Returning to my canine companions. Their paws are now extremely soft, and since I rubbed it into their paws, my hands have become even softer. The foot massages are also a hit with them. I swear by this product. br>Last week, I had to take my oldest Boston to the vet to find out why her neck was so sensitive, and she yelped whenever I touched her. However, the vet tech was interrogating her and taking her temperature at the same time. I informed her that I had purchased Musher's Secret for Veeza's (14) and Cash's (12) paws. "Oh my gosh, I adore Mushers Secret!" she exclaimed. I've used it on my 16-year-old daughter's hair. " As a result, we extolled its virtues.
