During our testing, we discovered that a softer substance might cause the product to end up inside the dog's nose rather than on the outside, where it's supposed to go.
Jessica, hello there! Because the ingredients in Nozzle Nectar are 100% organic and natural, it should be safe to use on dry skin. Update: This review is being updated for three reasons. FIRST, the company contacted me and offered me a refund (not the phony automated type of contact, but a genuine and genuine contact). We actually talked about it. They realized I might have received outdated merchandise. They sent me a first replacement, which never arrived, so they sent me a second! SECOND, the replacement was slightly less difficult, and THIRD, no matter what we tried, our dog's nose just didn't seem to get any better. So it doesn't seem fair to give any one product a particularly low score. (For the record, since writing the original review, we've tried several veterinarian-recommended products as well as several home remedies suggested by others. ) Nothing seemed to work. And he despises it all. We're not going down without a fight. )br>br>We're on a mission to find a solution for our dog's chronic dry nose. We tried it even though it wasn't designed for that. It was specifically instructed that we apply it to the dog's nose and immediately wipe it off. It irritates our dog to no end. We're not sure if it's because it hurts or because he doesn't like it when people touch his nose. As a result, we began looking for other products after failing to notice any significant improvement.
I wasn't sure how nozzle nectar would work when I first got it. It's made of wax. such as a substance that appears to be extremely difficult to spread When I called the company, they assured me that everything was fine. I gauged a small chunk with the back of my thumb nail, then warmed it between my fingers before spreading it on my dog's nose. When the dog tries to lick it off, the thicker substance actually helps it stay on the nose. It took a few times for my dog to get used to it, but now that I reward him with a treat, he tolerates it. I wish I had taken before and after photos because it was gone in about 1. My dog's nose has improved dramatically after using the nectar for five weeks. It had large, bleeding cracks before the nectar (it looked like chunks of his nose were about to fall off). The cracks are filling in, there is no longer any blood, and the nose appears to be smoother overall. We employ it in the following ways: two times a day I believe he will have a normal nose within the next few weeks. Preparation H was recommended by our veterinarian, but after he licked it off, it made him sick. Using nozzle nectar never made him sick. We have a large German shorthaired pointer with a large snout, but I believe this small tin will last a long time, and I would highly recommend trying this product.
Before placing my order, I did a lot of research. Because she digs at everything, my Weimaraner has a chronic dry nose. This did not glide on smoothly enough for me to simply run it over her nose. Even trying to scoop some out with my finger is nearly impossible. It also doesn't spread very well. It was a letdown. I only used this product on my cuticles, so I only gave it three stars. It has a faint odor and appears to moisturize once rubbed in, but my dog would never sit still long enough for me to rub it in (especially on a raw nose). I am not going to place another order.
Several times a year, our Pit/Boxer mix develops a severe dry nose. We bought it a couple of weeks ago and within 3 applications his nose was 100% normal again. It smells wonderful, and we should be able to use this small container indefinitely. Yes, as some have stated, it is a very difficult paste. The trick is to shave a small amount off with your fingernail and then warm up by rolling between your fingers. It spreads easily on the nose and isn't so thin that the dog can lick it off once you've done that. If the need arose, we would buy this again. Overall, this is an excellent dog balm.
I was very excited to try this nose balm on my English Bulldog's extremely dry nose. Unfortunately, it took a bachelor's degree in engineering and 25 minutes of wrestling with the lid to open it. I didn't give a damn whether it worked or not by that point. I couldn't get the lid off without it leaking all over the place. Failure of the packaging. I ended up applying the leaked balm to her nose, and while it worked well, I discarded the lid and replaced it with plastic wrap.
In less than a week, our dog Miley's nose went from cracked, dry, flaking, and obviously painful to looking almost brand new. Thank you for creating such a fantastic product. br>br>Her before (white, dry, cracked, scaly) and after (fur is growing back and nose is almost healed) photos are attached.
My dog's nose was cracked and dry, and he was in a lot of pain. I saw a product similar to 'nozzle nectar' called'snout soother,' but it was $10 more expensive for the same size container. This item has proven to be extremely effective! After less than two weeks of use, my puppy's nose is almost completely back to normal! Some users have complained that the product's consistency is too waxy, but I think it's perfect; it spreads easily and does an excellent job! However, I wouldn't use it on a dog's cracked and bleeding nose because it could cause an infection and make things worse.
The dog nose balm is very effective at moisturizing and protecting my dog's already sensitive nose. It doesn't appear to have a scent, so it doesn't cause the same licking frenzy as some of the other products we've tried. br>My only complaint is that the product is too waxy/hard, making it difficult to remove from the tin and even more difficult to spread evenly on our dog before too much nose touching occurs, resulting in visible white on the dog's nose.
