Whether it matters is up to you. The product works well and my cats really enjoy it as well. As they chase the light around the house, they run all over it. Using the product hasn't caused me any problems. I love it because you can charge it from a USB port on your computer or you can use a surge protector, which has a USB port. There are no manufacturers in the United States for this product.
