The cord has a stretchy quality to it, similar to that of elastic. You can stretch it out by pulling on it, for example, and it will rebound. I hope this information is useful.
Although there is no way to replace the battery, my cats enjoy this toy so much that it is worth purchasing another when the batteries run out.
No, there isn't a way to turn it off. I became irritated by the noise and slammed it with a hammer, which silenced it.

My cats enjoy the sounds, so I bought this product for them. It holds their attention in a way that a silent toy cannot. br>For about 30 seconds, this product was functional. It only worked properly for 30 seconds after I opened it. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome.
This toy, in my opinion, is incredible. It's something I've bought before from a pet store, and my cat adores it. He only wants to play with the Play N Squeak AT NIGHT wand. It's been going on for over a year now. (and he isn't always cooperative with it- I went to get a new one because my 3 year old male Maine coon isn't chirping like it used to. The pet store was out, but lo and behold, it was available on Amazon! WOOT WOOT (Of course they did, because Amazon has it all! I paid more for it, but I didn't mind because playing with the cat with this wand is so much fun. UNFORTUNATELY, I did not receive the one I ordered and paid for. This stinks and I'm irritated about it because it's a junky dollar store cream colored twinkle mouse play wand. I'm not going to order this again because it's a waste of money- I'll continue to look for pets in pet stores.
BUT. if you can get one of the ones listed for sale here- It's fantastic. But don't hold your breath; what you get will be a surprise!.
This toy is used a lot by the kitties. Although the string is frayed, it does not appear to be in danger of snapping. I have to take it off of the chair it's draped over and place it on the counter when I wake up in the morning. Otherwise, they'll irritate my husband as he tries to get some rest. We don't mind the squeaking when we're out and about. It's worth every squeak to see the kittens having so much fun! They'll play if we move the wand around or if it's hung over the back of a kitchen chair.
I have an energetic two-year-old cat. Because he can be rough on his toys, his last fishing pole finally broke, so I ordered three more. The pole end was zip tied to one of the cat tree's legs and dangled in the air. During the day, he tosses it around and pouces on it. He lays down on his back and stretches the cord until it snaps back, after which he attacks it once more. He must have the mouse's squeaking and twinkling eyes. When he's playing with this, he makes the cutest sounds. The cord is fraying now, but it's still holding up, which is why I bought three because I know how hard he plays. I gave one to a neighbor, and both of her cats were enthralled by it. This is his favorite toy, even better than the pipe cleaner balls I roll into balls and let him bat around the house.
Because it is my cat's favorite toy, it has seen a lot of use. I bought it because it was the closest thing they had, and it's a complete waste of money. The string was haphazardly tied to the mouse, and it came undone after only 10 minutes of light play. Furthermore, half of the top feathers were already loose and fell out before I even used it when it arrived. Returning this item would have cost me more money, so I decided to keep it and accept the fact that I had wasted $5. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who plans on using it for more than 10 minutes.
This toy is a big hit with my cat. I used to have this cat toy for my previous roommate's cat, and I used to play with it all the time after we moved out; after we moved out, I researched and tried to find this exact toy, and I found it here on Amazon! My cat is enthralled by the commotion and flashing lights. I like that the cord is elastic rather than just a piece of string; it's cute and more durable than the usual dancers I buy for my cat. It's something I'd strongly advise you to try. The money was well spent.
When it comes to wand toys, my cat is a picky eater. He has an entire box of wand toys that he refuses to play with. This one is his favorite! The only thing I don't like about the rope is how short it is - it's too short. The transition from wand to mouse is complete. If the rope (string) connecting the mouse and the wand was 2 inches longer, I would give it a five-star rating.
I'm not sure how long this will last because we've only had it for a week, but the cat adores it when you wave the mouse around and it chirps. When kitty catches the mouse, the slightly stretchy cord makes for a more enjoyable game. My cat enjoys himself even more because of the feathers.
