Even though these trays are extremely affordable (and even more so at the time I purchased them than they are at the current price), my cats cannot fit comfortably in them. Despite my cats scooping out all the litter in the box with just a reasonable amount of litter in it, I have never had an issue with them. It is hard for me to envision any adult cat using these without them being shallow. However, I could imagine kittens using them okay. The bottom of the container also had grooves that made scooping more difficult.

In addition to scooping every day, I use a plastic liner once a week to collect everything, and the cleanup is quick and simple. This is a sanitary and safe environment. Although I rinsed the litter box several times, I never felt comfortable in using chemicals even when they were a great value, and I never felt like the box was completely clean.
