Questions & Answers

I'm torn between buying this and Lax- Eze. What are the components of this product?

Vetasyl contains psyllium fiber and a trace amount of malted barley extract (think of it as Metamucil for pets). I would have given Eze a shot if I had known about it because it is significantly less expensive. I've never understood why Vibrac doesn't sell Vetasyl as a powder.

What sets this apart from regular human fiber? Regular, which appears to be significantly less expensive, was recommended by my veterinarian. ?

The answer is that I don't know. My vet, on the other hand, recommended Vetasyl for cats, which has proven to be effective for my kitty cat. It's also a lot cheaper on Amazon than it is at the veterinarian's office. Susan Tucker is a writer who lives in the United

Is this something that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)?

I'm not sure if it's been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For my dog, my veterinarian recommended it. She used it for a long time and it also assisted her in resolving her issues. Make an appointment with a veterinarian to discuss it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you Since the end of August, I've been giving this to my senior rescue cat, who was suffering from chronic constipation and vomiting on a regular basis
5/5

She also suffered from arthritis, which made pooping extremely difficult for her. I decided to go the natural route after a series of expensive vet visits and vets who wanted me to spend more money on drugs, shots, enemas, and possibly surgery. br>br>For constipation, I give her half a Vetasyl capsule and a teaspoon of Nummy Tum Tum organic pumpkin for pets. That combination is a winner! She went from pooping sporadically every four days to having regular, healthy bowel movements. It took a few weeks to get it up and running on a regular basis. br>br>I didn't dissolve it in water first because that would turn it into a thick goo, which she didn't like. I simply sprinkle it on top of her wet food, stir it in, and let her eat. br>br>(For her arthritis, I also used Nordic Naturals cat fish oil. ) It's an anti-inflammatory, so it helps with general inflammation and lubricates the feces and hairballs to make them easier to pass.

This, combined with adequate hydration, has made a huge difference! When the cat food brand we buy for my cats decided to remove all grains from their wet food, it was a game changer
5/5

Both of my cats developed constipation after switching to dry food. I came across this supplement and started taking it right away. half a capsule in the morning and half at night for each cat, and 2. Slowly pour water into both of their wet containers. dry food. This strategy has proven to be extremely effective. The constipation was gone in no time. And nagging issues that both cats have had since they were kittens (one with dandruff, the other with itchy inflamed ears that required daily wax buidup that I had to clean almost daily, and a gross anal gland discharge issue [yes, cats get this too, not just dogs, and fiber]). Water is extremely beneficial! ]) left as well, never to be seen again. The problem of anal discharge in cats is difficult to solve, and having a vet express the gland can exacerbate the problem by damaging the gland. Little did I know that adding bulk to their stool with fiber could help. This could be resolved permanently with the use of water. I strongly advise you to look up hydration for your cat's weight and gradually increase the amount of water in their food until they are getting the recommended daily amount for their body weight every day. This will also help you avoid kidney disease, which affects one out of every three senior cats. I use a scale to weigh the water so that I can gradually increase it by a few grams each week to acclimate them to the change. To encourage them to finish their food, I mix in a few of their favorite treats. My cats are in much better shape than they used to be. Now I'm feeling much better.

Two of my senior cats have benefited from it
5/5

I really like this product, but neither of my cats liked it when I mixed it into or sprinkled it on top of their food, so I mixed it with warm water, filled an oral syringe, and gave it to them that way. One of the cats died after nearly 21 years, but the other is still alive and well at 16 years old, taking an oral slurry of Vetasyl every day. I crouch down behind him and hold him between my knees, then wrap an old flour sack cloth around his front like a bib and squirt the slurry into the side of his mouth slowly. This appears to be effective. I've been taking one capsule per day, but after reading another review, I'm thinking about switching to a half capsule plus a pinch of pumpkin. I think it's a great idea to supplement his vitamins with pumpkin! Thank you for a great product, Vetasyl!.

My senior cat was in desperate need of something like this
5/5

Because of kidney disease and inactivity, my 18-year-old cat has been struggling to poop. My veterinarian prescribed Lactulose, but it made him nauseous, and he refused to eat after receiving a dose. I came across this product, and it's fantastic! I started with half a dose per day, and now he gets a full pill once a day, and he's pooping regularly again. The powder is packaged in a gelatin capsule that is the most convenient to open. I add his wet food and stir it in. He doesn't notice the powder because it has no flavor. br>br>I wholeheartedly endorse this product.

It works for me and my cat
4/5

My cat required more fiber to keep everything in "log shape," if you catch my drift. As a result, I placed an order for this product. Every day, I sprinkle 1/2 of a capsule on her kibble, which is the most effective way for me to get this into her system. I tried mixing it in with her wet food, but it just made it globby and chunky. It was turned down by her. Because she gets the supplement by sprinkling it on her kibble, it stays dry and she gets the right amount without getting too much. I don't have to fight her to eat it because she prefers kibble, and if she wants kibble, she gets fiber! If she doesn't want to eat the fiber, she can eat the wet food provided (which is preferable to dry kibble for cats). I don't have to worry about my cat dehydrating herself because she drinks water. br>br>I really like this product because it keeps her GI tract moving. I also give her probiotic powder twice or three times a week in her wet food. Vetasyl Fiber Supplement is a great product.

Her internist and nutritionist advised her to begin adding vetasyl to her daily meals after she was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma
3/5

My 12-year-old cat has small cell lymphoma, and her internist and nutritionist advised me to begin giving her vetasyl every day. Unfortunately, when it was digested, it made her vomit, which was the exact opposite of what we were hoping for with chemo and steroids. When I stopped giving her the supplement, she stopped vomiting. Then I started putting it back in her food, and sure enough, the vomiting began again. That was more than enough to persuade me that the product is harming her rather than aiding her in bowel movements.

Seeing him try to have a was excruciatingly painful for me
5/5

If your cat is constipated, give this a try. My cat is 22 years old and has been with me since I was a child. I was planning on putting him to sleep for Christmas last year. Seeing him try to have a bowel movement was excruciating for me. This is what I came across. He'll be with us for the holidays. He has a chance of living longer than we do. thanks.

It's the same product as my veterinarian's, but it's a lot less expensive
5/5

Irritable Bowel Syndrome affects two of my cats, so they take 1/2 capsule daily in wet food. They seem to enjoy the flavor, so they don't reject their food and thus get the medicine; I usually purchase from my veterinarian, but your product is identical and slightly less expensive.
