Questions & Answers

Is there any lead in the cup?

Thank you for your inquiry. We're pleased to report that the planters are lead-free.

Is there a drain hole at the bottom of the container?

Hello Leone,br>This planter does not have drainage holes because of the high absorbency of the soil. However, as long as the instructions are followed and the grass is not overwatered, it is not necessary. Thank you for contacting us.

After a grass seed has sprouted, how long does it last?

It all depends on how many cats are eating it and how they are eating it. We had one cat who nibbled it for a couple of weeks (and had good teeth). Then there was another cat who snatched the blades from the table and yanked them out because her teeth were bad and she enjoyed it so much. As a result, the planting only lasted about a week.

Is it possible for you to drink from the cup?

The cat's two small ears protrude up from the sides (the handle side and the opposite side from the handle) of this small cup. My cat cup is full of healthy, green grass that my cat nibbles on every day, so I can't answer this question with a test. It is something he adores.

Selected User Reviews For Organic Cat Grass Growing kit with Organic Seed Mix, Organic Soil and Cat Planter. Natural Hairball Control and Remedy. Manufactured in The USA.

Such a great deal on a fantastic starter kit! This is a fantastic little starter kit! It includes enough seeds, coco fiber for soil, and a cute ceramic cat mug to serve as a planter
5/5

To keep up with the upkeep, you can purchase refill packs of seeds and coco soil. Even for a novice like myself, the instructions are simple to follow. I've read a couple of reviews where people have complained about mold and other problems - This may come across as harsh, but those errors are the result of user error. To avoid these issues, simply follow the directions carefully. After a few years of growing, I've discovered a few "pro tips" that I'd like to share in the hopes of helping someone else; )br>br>Cat grass is actually wheat grass, which is susceptible to mold and appears white and "fuzzy" in appearance. However, during early stages of growth, cat grass roots are white and "feathery," which can easily fool the untrained eye! Examine the situation more closely. If the white stuff is just a layer of "fuzz" on the soil's surface, it's mold. If the white stuff beneath the soil appears to be long "feathery" strings sprouting directly from the seeds, those are roots. br>br>When it comes to mold, the instructions state, "do not over-mold. " "It's all about the water," they say, and they're serious. You should only put in the first four rows. 6 oz. warm water, as directed, followed by- a smidgeon (1-) ONLY if the coco soil is dry when touched after a few days (2oz max). Overcrowding is the most common cause of mold growth. watering! In fact, I used a spade to drill a small hole in the bottom of the planter. shaped drill bit designed specifically for ceramics). Drainage holes are extremely useful for preventing water from pooling at the bottom of a container over time. Try this if you're looking for a way to keep your mouth watering. br>br>The lack of sunlight is another major "mold factor. " The planter should be kept in low light, out of direct sunlight, according to the instructions. You will, however, get mold if you leave it in complete darkness! Take extra precautions if you're not sure. It is preferable to have too much light than not enough. If you notice mold growing on the planter, the "magic trick" is to put it in direct sunlight for a day or two. If you catch the mold problem early enough, this will almost certainly kill it and save your grass. br>br>I found a soil additive that greatly aids in the treatment of common issues. Purchase a set of hydroponic "grow stones" (available on Amazon). They're light, porous stones that are usually made of pumice; rinse them with warm water and layer them up to about 1/3 of the way down the cup's bottom. Then, according to the instructions, apply the coco soil and seeds on top. The grow stones absorb and hold excess water, keep gnats and other insects away from the roots, give them more weight and sturdiness, and are reusable! Actually, if you don't want to use soil, you can grow cat grass entirely out of stones! br>br>I hope these pointers prove useful to any newcomers who are having difficulty adjusting. Even though cat grass/wheat grass grows extremely quickly and is quite hardy, mistakes do happen. Don't give up; if you keep trying, you'll become a cat grass master in no time!.

It would have been nice if it could have lasted a little longer
4/5

This was a fun project that produced a lot of grass. However, the entire process took about 4 days to complete, after which it withered, became moldy, and died after about a week and a half. For the first few days after the grass was in full bloom, my cat had no idea what to make of it. Then he became completely engrossed in it. He never actually ate the grass, but he did nibble on it all the time. However, it (the grass, not the cat) eventually died. And my cat would have had to wait another four days for me to grow any bigger. I could have a second batch growing and ready if I had another one. I like the small cat cup, but it would be nice if it had drainage holes in the bottom. The included puck of soil is fantastic; it didn't smell and was completely mess-free. All I wish for is for the grass to never die. For example, my obnoxious lawn, which I have to mow every three days.

I'd like to have my old Tabby back: It seemed like a nice present for my cat Tabby
5/5

She loved it right away, but it was clear that Tabby was high as a kite, and I noticed a mood swing I'd never seen before when I took it away. I'm sure she became addicted, and now whenever I let her outside, she combs the lawn for her "grass. " It's as if she believes she'll come across some of the stash she had. I'd also like to point out that she hasn't been home as much as usual, and I discovered my iPad had vanished the day before yesterday. I believe that we require some sort of intervention. Tabby in the first photo is before the grass, and Tabby in the second photo is after the grass. Keep an eye on things.

It's simple to grow, and the cat seems to enjoy it
5/5

My Himalayan cat is wary of her window perch, but as soon as I placed the kitty grass on it, she dove right in. Before buying this grass, I read other reviews and agree with those who said to FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. They're easy to do, and if you just follow the planting instructions, the grass will grow beautifully and quickly. In about 5 days, I had a large crop. The seed is organic, and the dirt has no odor; however, another vendor on Amazon is selling a very similar product, but it is not organic seed, and the dirt apparently smells (based on reviews). The Cat Ladies kitty grass, on the other hand, is a different story. Because the mug is cute but not very heavy, I recommend placing it on the floor or on a cat tree perch with sides if your cat likes to swipe things off counters. My cat was too preoccupied with stuffing her furry face with food to tip it over. This purchase has exceeded my expectations, and I plan to order more.

It's not bad; just make sure your cat eats it
4/5

I'd give this product five stars if I could, but I have to be honest. This product is fantastic in nearly every way. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the plant grew quickly. I also like the included cat cup/container/pot, which can be reused or re-purposed. purpose. It looks like it could be used as a coffee mug or a drinking cup in general. My only issue is that it would not be eaten by my cat. She was more interested in what grows outside, so this eventually died without accomplishing its goal. It's not that I don't recommend it; I think it's a great product in general; I just think you should be aware that your cat might not eat it. You might lose some money if that happens, but it's not that expensive, and it comes with a cool cat pot/cup/whatever that you can re-use. purpose. This product's quality, in my opinion, is excellent. It also includes a coupon for a discount on your next seed purchase. I liked this product a lot, but my cat refused to eat it. I suppose I could grow the vegetables she eats outside in this pot, but it wouldn't be as simple as growing the seeds that come with it.
