This item has been knocked off the table twice by my cat, and both times it has broken. I glued it back together the first time, but now I'm thinking of replacing it with a plastic cup.
I wouldn't do it. The key is to avoid overwatering in the first place, but if mold does appear, scrape off as much as you can. then take a look at one of the following options: Sprinkle a little ground cinnamon around the top of the soil, or mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 9 parts water and spray a small amount on the soil every day; The grass, not so much.
Yes, the soil is represented by the small "puck." You moisten/loosen it by placing it in the cup. After that, you put the seeds in after removing about a tbsp of the liquid. removing a layer of soil from the top and patting it over the seeds Cover with plastic wrap and store in a dark place for a day or two. Then uncover it and place it in a sunny location. Within a few days, the sprouts should appear.

I smirked at this present when I first saw it as a cat. That's not going to grow like it was supposed to, and what did my human get me now? But, miracle of miracles, a miracle has occurred. Not only did it grow, but the food was of excellent quality. I did manage to knock the cute container over, but my human was quick to reclaim it. It was potted for me in "cat safe" material, whatever that means. Congratulations on your accomplishment. I'm Meowta, and I'm here to help.
Lily, my kitty cat, was a big fan of the Organic Pet Grass, and I loved watching her eat it. The pleasure lasted only a few moments. I planted grass on the window sill so she could look out the window and feel like she was outside; the grass grew quickly and was simple to maintain. Lily was enthralled by the grass and refused to leave it. Because she was chomping so hard, she nearly knocked them over twice. She wouldn't stop eating the grass, so I had to remove it on a regular basis. The grass had grown too tall and was falling over, so I had to trim it. The issue began when I needed to water the grass. Because there are no drainage holes, I watered the plant and then drained the excess water by tipping the pot to the side. That seemed to help with the drainage issue, but it didn't. Lily kept vomiting after eating the grass because it had lost its vibrant color. After cleaning up after her for an entire day, I realized that this was not good for her. Mold had most likely taken hold of the grass. Within a few days, the seeds sprouted grass that was thick and a rich green color. However, drainage holes are required for the grass to survive in the pot.
At first, the grass grows well in the cute pot, but then the mold appears. It molds no matter how carefully I care for the grass and do not overwater it. I used a different pot and no mold with the same pellet of dirt and seeds. br>I'm convinced that the shape of the cat pot makes it easier for mold to grow. There is insufficient airflow. br>The cats adore this grass when I grow it in my own pot.
Petramalt may work well for hairballs, indigestion, and other issues, but it is petroleum-based and contains carcinogens. I was looking for a healthier alternative after losing several cats to cancer over the years, but I was hesitant to try it because I have no experience with gardening. My thumbs are completely black, and I am a plant killer. Each and every one of them After 20 years of trying to transplant live Christmas trees into my backyard, I still have a barren yard; not a single one has survived. I once killed a Christmas cactus that someone had given me. Any living plants I have are those that already exist outside and are cared for by Mother Nature. But I thought I'd give it a shot. It worked like a charm! Even though I followed the instructions to the letter, I'm sure I made numerous mistakes, the grass sprouted and grew extremely quickly, despite the fact that it took a long time to sprout. It took almost a week for anything to break through the soil, but once it did, it spread like wildfire; my cats love it, and it appears to be working for them. They're not chewing on the stray synthetic carpet fibers from their worn-out kitty condo (which I'm sure isn't good for them), so I'm pleased with this product and would recommend it to others. It will grow for anyone if it will grow for me. I can't express how grateful I am to those who contributed to this. Despite my deathly black thumbs, it grew, survived, and thrived. I am blown away. I even purchased replacement refills in case this batch runs out.
First and foremost, the cat cup is adorably cute. We planted the grass seed, followed the instructions, and by the second day, we had baby sprouts. Our cat immediately took to the grass, which grew quickly. We didn't overwater it and kept it on the kitchen counter because we thought it would get enough light, but the grass began to mold and discolor, and the grass became limp. We're pretty sure it was our fault, but we don't know what we did wrong. Although other reviewers suggested it might be too deep of a cup for the grass to grow and not mold, I really like the concept of the product and the cup is really cute. I would advise others to give it a shot and see if they have better luck than we did.
) My cat became ill, so I had to stop using it. I haven't been able to come up with a solution to the mold problem.
She likes to eat it, rip it apart, and pounce on strands that fall to the floor every now and then. This item is outstanding. To begin with, it is less expensive than the grown grass I was paying at the pet store. Preparing the soil and planting the seeds should take no more than 15 minutes. It is extremely simple and error-free. There's no need to have a green thumb! Second, and perhaps most importantly, it is FRESHER than what you can purchase. I was tired of either not being able to buy grass at the store because it was all dead, or having to settle for the least dead version. My cat now has access to the freshest and tastiest grass available, which she adores. The three-pack of planters was what I originally purchased. It was such a hit that I went out and purchased this adorable cat mug as well as the refill set. My cat is even happier with the mug because it is heavy, making it easier for her to rip at and eat. The rest of the planters are fine, but they will fall over. She can just go for it now that she has the mug! This is an excellent product, and both my cat and I give it two thumbs up. Oh, wait, she's missing her thumbs. We both give it our highest recommendation!.
There are only two cats in my house, so it gets a low rating. One cat adores the grass and is quite vocal until you give it to him for a while, while the other appears to be completely unaware of the situation. So 50% approval rating from my cats is all I have to say about it. However, because of how happy it makes the one, I will continue to purchase the refills. If you have a clever cat who enjoys repeatedly testing Newton's law of gravitation, the mug will shatter when it lands on hard flooring. However, if you keep it out of reach and place it on the floor for them, the heavy base will keep it upright while they snack on the grass, preventing them from dragging it under the couch and wondering where the cat grass went. It was literally right in front of you.
