Because xylitol is toxic to animals, the sugar in it is similar to xylitol. In contrast to sweet sugar, xylitol is a type of sugar that is good for your teeth and gums. As a result, the sugar in CET is beneficial to the dental health of pets. Actually, my veterinarian, who attended an ivy league vet school (Upenn), claims that brushing isn't necessary because enzymatic toothpaste prevents food debris bacteria from turning into plaque and tartar. Many doctors and common sense tell me it's the brushing (brushing and fluoride are important in humans). However, I have faith in Dr. Hsu, a cat liver 11cat owner in Hawaii and a graduate of UPenn's prestigious veterinary school. I asked if she ate a lot, and she said yes, so I brish three times a day with two different foods. 3qtip(4- 6tips). He said that if the poop is fine and she enjoys it, there's no need to be concerned (though I may be giving too much). As a result, I'm thinking of trying Nolvadent (which all pets despise) as a substitute. But who knows, nolvadent could be harmful as well. br>This time, I got two brown toothpaste tubes. br>At the time, I didn't think much of it and gave them to my dog. br>After giving it to them, I went on Amazon and read some of the reviews where people said their dog became sick and vomited after using brown toothpaste. br>I was terrified, so I returned it right away. br>As you can see in the photo, the toothpaste turned white after I squeezed about a third of it out. br>I was curious as to why the toothpaste had turned brown. br>I'll keep an eye on my dog to see if there's anything wrong. br>I'll try to update and document my review so that future customers will know what to do if they receive brown toothpaste.
I'm ashamed of myself! This should not be used on your pets. Sorbitol is the first ingredient! When I first used it to brush my dog's teeth, she became extremely ill! She had been sick for two days, vomiting and refusing to eat. I switched from Vets Best because I thought the flavor would appeal to her; however, I should have read the ingredients first and learned my lesson. Vets Best is a product that is manufactured and distributed in the United States of America. There are no problems when there is no Sorbitol and only natural ingredients are used. Vets Best was ordered again and will be used in the future!.
On September 12th, 2018, we purchased two tubes from Amazon. Our dog refused to have her teeth brushed for the first time after opening one of the new tubes. A dark oozy substance squeezed out when I was squeezing out a glob recently! Either there was mold or the food had gone bad! Returning to Amazon is no longer an option due to the expiration of the return policy. I'm contacting the manufacturer to see what they can do. All hell would have broken loose if my dog had gotten sick!.

I'm very happy with this product, and I'm glad I didn't spend $400 on a dental procedure before trying it.

I was brushing their teeth every day when I noticed they were having severe diarrhea, but I assumed it was due to their food. br>br>I forgot to brush their teeth for a day, and their poop was back to normal. I assumed it was the toothpaste, so I looked at the ingredients and discovered SORBITOL as the first ingredient. Despite the fact that veterinarians recommend this brand, it contains sorbitol, a known laxative that can cause gastrointestinal distress in dogs. br>br>I'm writing this review to warn people to be cautious about what they feed their dogs! Look into the components. It doesn't mean it's safe for them just because it's recommended by a veterinarian. br>br>After doing some more research, I discovered some healthier options for my dogs' dental care. I wanted to share this list because we all want the best for our pets, and commercial toothpastes aren't doing them any favors. 1. br>br> Raw meaty bonesbr>You can learn more about the benefits of raw meaty bones for dogs. Your dog's teeth are cleaned, plaque and tartar are scraped away, and food build-up is prevented while they chew on the bone. Cooked bones splinter, but raw bones do not! Dogs and cats can eat raw meat because their stomachs are extremely acidic, killing any harmful bacteria. Always use safe food handling techniques when working with raw meat on your own. br>br>Here are a few raw bones that are excellent for teeth cleaning: Backs of chicken, duck feet, turkey necks, and beef/lamb ribs Before feeding raw bones, I recommend conducting extensive research. There's a lot of useful information in the Facebook groups "Raw feeding advice and support (PMR)" and "Worldwide Raw feeding advice and support. I'll be adding a little bone broth to the homemade toothpaste because one of my dogs is picky and liked the poultry flavor in the Virbac toothpaste. br>br>I believe a combination of raw bones, Plaque off or kelp powder, natural chews, and homemade toothpaste will be much better for my dogs than this Virbac toothpaste. I hope this helps someone who wants to prevent periodontal disease but wants natural/healthier options.
My Maltese, who weighs 4 pounds, has been sick for months. Take caution when using this. My 4 pound Maltese had been having really loose stool and vomiting for months, to the point where she had to go through a battery of tests that were not only expensive, but also made the dog sick all the time. I had used up a full tube of this toothpaste and ordered another, but it took several days to arrive. The vet told me she had liver dysfunction, but after an ultrasound and other tests, the final result was inconclusive. I had used up a full tube of this toothpaste and ordered another, but it took several days to arrive. During that time, her stool became firm for the first time in a long time without the use of medication; I threw out the tube when it arrived and now use a toothpaste that does not contain sorbitol, which I believe is what made her sick in the first place. Maybe she's too small, but no animal product should contain ingredients that have been linked to soft stool in dogs. I'd stay away from sorbitol toothpaste.
