Questions & Answers

Is it safe for cats to use?

Please keep in mind that cats and dogs are not the same. Certain liver enzymes are absent in cats, but they are present in dogs. As a result, many things that are safe for dogs are dangerous to cats and can even kill them. If an ingredient hasn't been approved for cats, you'd have to do a lot of research to make sure it's safe for them. Cats have a much lower tolerance for flea treatment than dogs, which is why you should never give a flea treatment designed for dogs to cats, even if the 'weight' per dose is the same. It has the potential to make them sick, if not to kill them. Cats can be killed by essential oils and other "natural" substances. Just be cautious when dealing with cats, and never assume that dog products will be safe to use on them.

What is the benefit of neem oil in this product? Is that some kind of insecticide?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. For many years, neem oils have been used in the dental industry to make toothpaste and mouthwash. Its antibacterial properties, which are attributed to the presence of nimbidin, Azadirachtin, and nimbinin, aid in the removal of a variety of aerobic and anaerobic pathogens in the oral cavity. We hope this information is useful to you. Sincerely, Hero Pet Brands br>br>

Is the toothbrush small enough for a Yorkie who weighs 5 pounds? In comparison to a lab, her mouth is quite small. I'm just wondering if I should get a smaller toothbrush. ?

Take a look at the small Hartz toothbrush with case that comes with it. My almost 10-year-old toy fox terrier, who weighs 7 pounds (down from 14 pounds when he was a puppy), fits in perfectly. This toothpaste is also very effective. Tink had not had his teeth brushed in years until I started brushing them nearly 11 months ago. Vet is overjoyed with her teeth's recovery from previous years, as well as her weight loss! I hope this has been of assistance.

What is the role of baking soda here?

Baking soda, when combined with aloe, neem oil, grapefruit seed extract, and enzymes, helps to freshen your pet's breath while gently removing plaque and tartar. For this reason, we only include the bare minimum. This information is provided in the hopes that it will be useful to you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Best Team of Vets

Neem Oil
3/5

I would not have bought this product if I had known it contained Neem oil. Neem Oil, which I've used as an insecticide in my yard, has made some dogs sick when ingested or applied to the skin, so I don't take any chances with ingredients like this, which, while a useful natural substance in and of itself, has had some lethal consequences. I'm not willing to take a chance with my sweeties, so I'm discarding this product, along with the toothbrush design, which is ridiculously useless.

Avoid! Hazardous! This toothpaste is to be avoided at all costs
3/5

My dog required emergency treatment, and I just spent over $400 at the vet. My dog was sick for over three days after using this toothpaste once with a very small amount. For the past three days, I've been vomiting and diarrhea nonstop. Don't buy this for yourself or your dogs! At best, it's dangerous, and at worst, it's fatal.

Dogs should not be exposed to this
3/5

After brushing his teeth with this product for two days, my dog became ill. He's had terrible bowel movements and has puked on top of it. When buying something like this, I would advise caution.

My dog was extremely ill as a result of your actions
3/5

This is something you should avoid purchasing. My dog puked all over the place as a result of this. He was also very tired and had a fever as a result of it. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until I discovered that this product contains neem oil, which should not be consumed by animals. Obviously, they'll swallow a lot of it if you brush their teeth with it. Neem Oil is a pesticide that is applied to plants to kill bugs! If you don't want to make your dog sick and spend the entire day cleaning up puke, don't buy this. The toothbrush that comes with it, on the other hand, is fantastic! It's made up of three brushes that work together to clean all sides of the dog's teeth.

I went to the vet to get a quote for cleaning my dog's teeth, and the toothpaste DOES work, but it takes time
5/5

There is a female and a male in my family. I was quoted $280 for the female and $252 for the male (I'm not sure why the price difference since they are both of the same breed), but that was the price I was given, so I began looking for a tartar-removing toothpaste. br>br>Many dog owners have told me, "No, that won't work; once they get tartar, the vet has to remove it; you can't do it at home. " Well, because I am stubborn, I bought this toothpaste in October 2020 and began rubbing it on my dog's teeth every day, not cleaning them at the time, but simply rubbing the gel on each tooth that had heavy tartar, including those in the back (molars) that were difficult to reach because my dogs are small, and the smaller the mouth, the more difficult it is to clean it. br>br>About two months ago, I bought ten finger brushes (ASIN B07NYB6DND) and began cleaning more thoroughly. I noticed a small gap between the gum and the tartar yesterday, February 13th, 2021, and I happened to get my nail in there, so I pushed down and the tartar came off without much effort. The tartar came off as well when I did the same with the molars. I then went to my other dog (the female) and did the same thing, and I was able to remove the tartar all over her as well. I was overjoyed because I had doubts that the time I had spent every day rubbing toothpaste would pay off. I don't need to spend more than $500 because their teeth are now clean; all I have to do now is keep them that way: 0)br>br>The toothpaste is effective, but it will not remove tartar in a week, two weeks, or even a month; it may take 4 to 5 months, and patience is required. br>br>Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

Our senior rescue, who has never had brushing, likes it, so it must be tasty.

I was apprehensive about using the dental gel because my teeth had gone from bad to worse
5/5

But after about 30 days of trying this, I can't believe how much better I feel. My whippet rescue, who is 14 years old, had terrible teeth. With my fingernails, I was able to break up the tartar and remove it from his teeth; it's amazing how well this works. You must be persistent and use it on a daily or even twice-daily basis, but it will work.

It performs admirably
5/5

My dog's teeth have improved after just one use. It's difficult for her to keep her teeth clean because she dislikes chewing hard dental bones.
