This isn't the first time I've scaled a dog's teeth, but these are the ideal size for small dogs. I recently had my four-year-old cleaned, but I've decided to return to home scaling because I don't like putting my two small children (7 pounds and 9 pounds) under anesthesia. This set is perfect for getting into tiny crevices and detail work, as one of the tools is on the larger side, but sharper and really good at breaking off large plaques. If this is your first time, make sure your dogs are comfortable being handled and having your fingers in their mouths. My older daughter is ecstatic because she is a beautiful princess who knows she will be rewarded for her good behavior. The younger one takes it in stride. I simply started with one or two teeth per day until I had completed the process. Check for touch-ups every week or biweekly, but also brush with a toothbrush in between. Baby toothbrushes are better for small mouths than dog toothbrushes. They are more comfortable, and if you give them a flavored toothbrush, they will be even more enthusiastic.

I used it for about 10 minutes before deciding to save the rest for the next day so my dog could have a break. I put it on my window sill after rinsing it with hot water and dish soap. The scaler was rusted in the morning. Because this is something that MUST be washed after use, I was expecting stainless steel. What's the point of selling it if it can't be washed safely? I wasn't particularly impressed with the tool's functionality. It was a waste of money.

He was initially afraid, but after he realized I wouldn't harm him, he let me scrape off the majority of his Tatar. I do recommend doing it in two steps so that their gums aren't irritated as much. His breath isn't as bad as it used to be, which is great!.

I started with my 5-year-old jack Russell/boston terrier mix (who, by the way, I have to muzzle when I trim his nails). He sat like an angel, and his teeth were immaculate! Regrettably, I neglected to photograph him before and after. My 11-year-old black lab mix is featured in the photos I've attached. I decided to give it a try on him because his back teeth were in bad shape. I was in his mouth for 30 minutes (the same amount of time as my small dog), but my big old boy needed a break. I know I need to go back in there and work on his teeth some more, but MAN do they look better than they did before. It's definitely worth a shot, especially since it won't cost you a fortune.

The instruments perform admirably. My dog had a plaque on the middle of her back. I scraped off the back teeth with the tools. To get into the small pits on the back teeth, I mostly used flathead tools and then a sharp scraper. The tools have a good amount of weight to them and feel solid. They're something I've tried before.

Every time I went to the veterinarian, they tried to persuade me to have my dog's teeth cleaned, which would cost at least $400. Brushing my dog's teeth isn't fun, and it doesn't happen nearly as often as it should, so his teeth were covered in tartar. I made the decision to purchase this set in order to rid myself of the junk. It was successful! My dog's teeth looked great at our most recent vet visit, according to the vet! It took about two weeks of daily scraping to accomplish this. It took a lot of patience on both my part and my dog's part to accomplish this. I only scrape his teeth after he's been exercised to the point of exhaustion, so he doesn't fight me. After a 3-hour period, He's done in 5 minutes and moves around too much for it to be safe. Because I'm afraid my dog will move unexpectedly, I haven't used the one with the hooks. I was going to poke him, but the other two are doing a fantastic job. These tools performed admirably for their intended purpose. After each use, I washed them in hot soapy water and air dried them, and they still look brand new. These should only be purchased if you have a strong desire for them. Your dog, on the other hand, has a lot of patience!.

My dog lets me brush his teeth one at a time because the texture on the shaft makes it easy to hold without slipping. There will be no vet bills or sedation because the teeth will be clean. Awesome!.

The equipment is of excellent quality. I purchased the set to aid in the removal of stubborn tartar from my elderly dog's teeth - I found these instruments to be most effective after using an electric toothbrush for pets - ask your dentist how to use them or watch a reputable online video first. I ended up with the mothermed one. Then just do it on a regular basis- It is extremely beneficial to the dental health of your pet. health of the gums!.
