Over the holiday season, I flew on Southwest. It was my concern that I would be rejected for the size of the carrier and the size of my dog at the counter. There is a 16 lb dog in my house. I feel like I've been speaking a lot lately. As much as I needed this size carrier for him, I didn't want it to hinder my ability to board. This carrier is really nice, and allows me to open up the porch area while in the terminal, giving him a little extra space (very There was good reason to be concerned about the height of this carrier. If you don't do what I did ahead of time, you'll never be able to get it under the seat. The carrier is very stiff, and its frame prevents it from collapsing on itself as soon as it hits the ground. To remove the length of the fiberglass rod, you will only have to remove two fiberglass rods running along the top. You can remove these easily by sliding them out of the slots inside. If you don't take them out, you will never be able to push this under the seat. You can always put them back later. If the rods are left on the ends, they can be left there. The carrier will have a little less head room when your dog is flying, but if it doesn't fit your dog's body, you will have bigger problems. It was really important to have some space under the porch for my feet, so I didn't open it when I was flying. My dog had just been given a 25mg Benedryl, so he was primarily looking forward to For those of you who are curious, the flight was 4 hours long. While we paid for our fares and checked our bags at the Southwest counter, the agents were very friendly, but didn't seem particularly interested in our bag. I had the bag on my shoulder while paying for our fares carrier's front has a window, so my dog can peek out, and of course people always compliment him on his cuteness. It is my hope that this post helps someone, because I actually bought two bags before deciding to travel with this one on our trip I actually stressed for a couple months before we left home for it. For durability reasons, the windows are made from heavy plastic mesh, but you will have to carefully watch that the dog or cat doesn't chew on it or claw at it. However, I did worry about mine, even though I didn't have any issues. Besides that, the rest of the unit is very Make sure that you take care of the zippers as well. A paw of my dog got in there and opened it, so he jumped out. I had left mine slightly open, so he jumped Almost got away with it there. I wish you good luck with your flight.
As a result, the medium carrier was allowed on my Delta international flights from Europe to the U.S. There were two flights (one was on an Airbus 767, the other on an Airbus A330). There was only a little room, so the large would not fit under a seat, even with some wiggling. All of our cats were 12 years old There is 15 pounds of it. Our 16 lb large and tall cat is going to be transported in a medium PetsFit bag, and we have a few concerns that it will be too small for him, though he likes to sit inside it when it is expanded at home.
There are 11" between the widest and tallest sides. Despite our dog's 12lb weight, it worked well for him. In the extended part there is no cushion, and the main compartment and the extended compartment are separated by a zipper.

If you are flying a very small plane, the medium may also be too big, but if you are flying a plane that has at least three rows or a middle row, you'll likely

I'd like to start up by saying how much I love the There used to be a similar "pop out patio" version sold by Petco, but it is no longer made. The average number of flights I take per year is one My two mini dachshunds weigh 12 pounds each in their small suitcases. I fly two roundtrips monthly with them. YES, they both fit in this bag with room to stretch out, lie flat, or move around, even without the "patio" being open, and the bag is small. They are short and that is a plus! A few pros The following features are of high The material should be strong and durable The carry straps are attached to solid METAL hardware, and the internal frame is sturdy. I am* *br* It is possible to fit a 19x11x11 under the window and center seats of SouthWest Airlines (a Boeing 737). I can even pull the "patio" portion into the foot space and it fits even lengthwise under the seat. You are not supposed to open it during takeoff or landing. A great way to add additional space with a pop out "patio. " My favorite aspect of the patio is that it has a semi-natural internal frame of its own that keeps it's structure without extra effort from me. This bag comes with a large pocket in which you can keep documents, toys, treats, etc. *- It can be folded down for flat storage or carrying. The following cons / suggestions have been made to Petsfit - It would be nice to have more (neutral) color options to choose from. It doesn't suit my taste to have grey and red together. It would have been nice to have a solid black background.
- Considering there are only 2 sides that are vented (as necessary by airlines), the upper pocket portion could/should have been mesh to allow for more ventilation. Please note Having velcro or a zipper on the provided pocket would have been a nice touch, since items can spill out if not placed in a large ziplock bag first.
- In order to access the patio and the patio partition, double zippers on the fabric would have been better, so that you could access it from either side, depending on which side of the plane you sat It is uncomfortable both for us to lean into the foot space of the person in the middle (to my left) to open the "patio. " I am* *br* There is no question that most people prefer tall carriers for their pets to sit up in. For this carrier to fit under a seat, it must be smushed down 2" from its 11" height. In order to reduce the wear and tear on the end support frames, the height could be reduced by an inch. I am* *br* A shared floor pad was used in both the main compartment and the patio. As a result, I either have to tuck the patio piece under the main compartment or allow it to rest against the partition wall, and it accidentally The "patio" floor is located on the patio side, which will be readily accessible when I unzip it, after I have cut the sections apart, sewed up the open ends, and cut a slit into the "end" of the patio cover. I am* *br* Having this bag folded flat, I have to wrap a hand strap over my shoulder and wedge the bag under my arm so it stays flat against me as I carry it. It was held together using the shoulder strap (I wrapped it around the entire thing). In my old bag, there were velcro pieces that kept the folded bag together so that it could be carried flat over the shoulder. For flat carries, it would be useful if there was a second option for the shoulder strap placement.
In order to transport my very large Norwegian Forest Cat on a cross country flight, I purchased a medium-sized sherpa bag but found it too small for our cats.
Thus, I purchased this bag after reading a review that said it is large enough for cats up to 9 pounds. He fits perfectly in the main area, and I feel better about having an extension for when he travels cross country, as he will be able to freak out in plenty of space. Upon contacting Delta (Airline), they informed me that it was appropriate So it's not a problem. The carrier has been in his possession most of the day since we got it, so he's happy with it.
In order to attend the conference in Minneapolis, I had to travel from California An extended stay of one week. I didn't want to leave my schnauzer/mix here in a kennel for so long and was at a loss of what to do with my friend. My research on products and blogs was endless to try to figure out what would work to get the 24 lb fellow in cabin and finally successful The seat is under the desk. It was amazing to travel on this carrier. He was able to stretch out and sleep during the flight because the expandable side allowed him to zip up and close the bag. There were multiple openings that were great to have. As the TSA agent checked his backpack, I unzipped the top to lift him out, then I sat on the floor next to a wall in the boarding area with the side section open & he walked around for the rest of the trip While I was calling, he sat on my lap with his head in my lap. There is a wide strap on the back of the bag that was perfect for sliding over the old suitcase. The bag also had a small pocket at the bottom. I found the padded mat more comfortable and easier to move around on As opposed to carrying him on your shoulders, it is more stable to wheel him through the terminal. If you plan to close the zippers, make sure they are on top As we landed, one of my guys nosed up out of the way in an attempt to escape. As United Airlines' airline requirements stated 18 x 11 x 11, I purchased that size. The mesh on this carrier made it difficult to see what was inside and I was worried I would be turned away at the ticket counter since my little guy couldn't stand up in it. I provided a health certificate from my veterinarian and they said they would not deny me entry. There was no check on the dog by the agent. Note Caution is in effect Make sure that you research your type of plane as well as the actual undercarriage This measurement is for the seat. Using points, I upgraded to 1st class in order to ensure that I had enough space. The Embraer E-195 of United Express was booked for my flight An aircraft known as a narrow-body jet It took a bit of pushing in the sides to get the carrier under the seat in the first start. Glad you got a soft one- It is two-sided. This carrier is designed in such a way that my little guy was able to make it both ways without too much The product was well made and well designed. This is a highly recommended book.
Unlike duffel bags, they were easy to carry with the dogs inside. Our dogs in the photos were usually unnoticed by most people. As mentioned before, the expandable side was vital to the dogs' comfort. For those lucky enough to have the seat in front of them open on the 2X2 seating arrangement, there is no divider under the seat. In this case, both carriers will fit under the seat, even during expansion of the sides. Only the carriers that have the expander closed will fit if you do not have the space. when the dogs were enclosed in the room, they still seemed comfortable, but they did get warm since there is not As long as the expander is closed, only the front and top of the unit are aired. While on the plane, we were able to keep treats, leashes, and other equipment in the pocket.
