In a nutshell, It was easy to install, beautiful, and cat-approved. I purchased the lotus leaf and the branch together. My satisfaction with the products is tempered by a glitch in the shipping process. As I ordered both the leaf and the branch at the same time, I expected that both would arrive at the same time. Both items in the shipment had been delivered when the package came in. It only arrived with a leaf, as it did not arrive with a To request delivery of the branch, I had to write to the seller. According to the seller, sometimes the items do not leave at the same time, which I can understand, but on the website it appears they are BOTH delivered, and no information was provided about where the branch is. Maybe the branch may have gotten lost or forgotten in the warehouse had I not written to the seller to ask for it. Despite the leaf arriving twice as late as the branch, the branch arrived a week later. It turned out that the shipment had a little hiccup. In general, though, I am very happy with the product, and my cat particularly enjoys walking Despite being on it a few hours now, he has not napped on it yet, but soon he will. I just love the way the wood feels - it doesn't feel like cheap particle board. My 14 lb cat runs up and down the shelves without incident. The shelves are secured into the studs, so I'm not worried about them falling.
We recommend you buy a long thin pencil to mark where the holes are and the curves of the unit so when you line it up it will line up properly. It is recommended you get the help of at least two other people. At first, it is difficult to secure because it is heavy and moves easily.
On the first two shelves, the holes were 16 1/4", but they increased to 17 1/2" on the third set. The standard practice is to set your studding every 16 inches behind your sheetrock. The cat shelf as a whole is nice. This item is sturdy and although it is heavy, I was able to install it without any trouble. The detachable fur top is the one thing that disappointed me most about Since the fur is thick and loose, there is no way to clean it once it is dirty (which will happen As well as looking cheap and tacky, it is unattractive.
