With this, she can stretch out her entire body, scramble up and down, sit on it, and even scratch downwards when she is sitting on it. We added extra grip to the bare top to help with traction. The three free samples of carpet we got from a hardware store were duct taped together on the bottom and velcro was added. The perfect little grip is here. Additionally, I recommend getting toggle bolt anchors instead of the ones that come with the kit for this project. There is no need to drill into your studs if you have toggle anchors that work in your drywall and support this scratcher and your cats just fine. It is necessary to drill a 1/2" hole to install them, but if you are renting like we are, it is easy to patch over, and there is no risk of the scratcher failing under weight.

It seems as though this wall mounted scratching post is made of black plastic. Despite its strengths and wide area, it is very positive in my eyes. This is an easy to install product and looks fantastic. Catnip sprayed on it made them crazy about it. They didn't want to use it at first, but after spraying catnip they went nuts. They can jump back and forth between the two of them and I installed two of them so they can stretch between them.

In my opinion, it will probably go away soon. Although the quality of this product is quite impressive, however I can't let my cats play with it because I think the smell is toxic after a few days of keeping it outside in a dry spot. I think it is probably the adhesive attached to the spooled rope around the product. The design is strong and looks good, so it seems a shame that it was destroyed.
