All the shipping companies have switched to dimensional shipping, which measures the size of the box to calculate shipping costs, so the bigger the box, the more it costs *br>Weight is determined by the size of the box, and this one is 90 pounds dimensional weight*

Do you have any experience with shipping/transporting by airline?

It would be best to call each of the airlines directly to find out if the size of the Macaw will work for them. I have transported mine in these for many years.

sucks when handles are squeezed A bit difficult to transport. Trying to manage a Guillotine door with a bird on your arm is difficult. According to instructions, the wingnut is on the inside, and birds will unscrew it, possibly swallowing it. It will be modified to meet our needs, but we will not purchase.
