There might be room for a big cat, but it would probably be pretty crowded. It would be a good idea to find a larger one.
I used mine to transport a guinea pig. It's airline approved, but you may want to get the larger size.

It was not possible to line up the holes for the screws. The screws fitted into their respective holes only after I wrestled with them. put my cat in the carrier yet, but he stands about twice as high next to it when my hand is close to He wouldn't be happy, I don't think he would be comfortable.
The material feels sturdy, it's easy to clean, and the size is perfect for very small dogs.
Fastening the top to the bottom was impossible since the holes did not line up with each other. In addition, the pins do not line up with the holes in the door, meaning the door is nearly impossible to close. It's not something I would buy.
