You will need a Gilson snow blower for this. The one I bought the first time I put on ended up being the one I bought again last night. Of course, the fit was perfect. With a Gilson, when the rubber wears low, it starts hitting the axle and wears even faster, to the point where it seems to stop moving altogether. There is a strange design to this, probably on purpose so it doesn't touch metal to metal. I wish there was more rubber on these but that's how it is. However, I will have to wait at least 5 years before replacing things again, but I am happy things are back to normal once more. It is advisable to take care of the axle bushings/bearings if you are mounting it on a Gilson, as there is currently no supply. As well as inspecting and replacing the gear sleeves, friction bearings, and gears, as they are all cheap parts but if neglected, gears will wear out eventually and you will need to find The following dates have been updated for 1/20/20 As a result of some slipping issues, I took the snowblower apart and found that the friction drive is badly cracked and worn out pretty much. It's hard to tell why so much wore off last year (2019), but we did have a terrible snow season. In my mind, I am undecided whether I should buy this brand again or see if there is another more robust option. Although I am not sure if being five winters is good or bad, I suppose that it took place last five winters. Even though I do not have any hills, I like to hit the snow banks hard and I put some very aggressive tires on, so the tires grab onto the snow and push the body forward There might be a downside to that that I did not think of. As much as I do not want to remove the rear of my Gilson yet again, I also do not want to dig my way through heavy snow, so I guess it will be fixing the snow blower and replacing the friction drive wheel. It looks like I could get a long life from my old Gibson snow blower after fixing it.
I installed it in the snow blower in roughly 1 1/2 hours after receiving it a week ahead of schedule. Despite being a perfect fit, the unit was solidly constructed and replaced the Ariens part In addition to this snow blower, it also fits many others.
The Oregon Snow Thrower Drive Disc was used to replace the original equipment disc on a ten-foot snow thrower The year is The Ariens part number 3003 was on an old Ariens 1124 Pro machine. I found this Oregon friction disc to be an exact match to the one I was replacing. It was a perfect line up of five holes. There is just as much rubber on the wear and tear part as it was on the worn out Ariens part. The rubber was evenly formed, and the whole item was Unlike when it was new, the snow blower has now engaged like a new one. Since then, I obtained a second one just to keep on hand. I couldn't be happier with this drive (friction) disc.
The fit is perfect and the functionality is great.
A great deal that's impossible to beat.
Hopefully I will be able to use it again.
