This motor fits exactly. In reading some reviews, I anticipated that there would be some tuning to be done. After installing this carb, I was however surprised to find that the old engine started up immediately after being hooked up. This gave the tiller a whole new lease on life!.
I received the carb within a few days and it On my old Troy Bilt Econo Horse tiller I used this carburetor. There's no snow blower on this carburetor- An extremely large choke lever is on the carb of this type. I can't imagine how a choke lever is supposed to clear an air cleaner, so in my mind it has to be a snowblower carburetor. I have managed to bend the handle into an S shape to accommodate my application because the choke handle is very malleable. My application ends up being incompatible with the throttle linkage on this carburetor. Since the linkage has to mount to the engine, there is no metal to drill up to where the linkage mounts. If you try to drill your own hole, you'll have to cut one out of the chassis. It was a simple matter for me to remove the throttle shaft from my old carb and swap it out with the new one. In the end, the engine started and ran correctly after it had been modified. Based on the fact that I was able to swap the parts off my old carb, the specifications of this carb appear to be on par with the OEM part number.
We had the ability to save money by not buying the original part and a kit that may or may not fix the old carb, so imo, it is a great deal. We'll have to see if it works as well as we expect? It is only a matter of time before we find out. It was cheaper to buy this tool than the kit on the original carb which consisted only of the needle, seat, and bowl gasket, but I needed the complete kit with shaft bushings/gaskets, which is why the old tiller is back in action.
In the first pull of the start-up process, she developed a perfect idle and maintained it throughout. I received a very good value in the part I received. We will source any parts we need from them in the future.
The attachments have all been sent. The fuel line was new as well, and the gas leaked like a sieve when I put it on. For the leak to stop, I removed it and cleaned it inside and out. Almost all of the leaking is stopped, but there is still some dripping. I got the engine to run (pretty well in fact) but it continues to leak. As long as it is not too expensive to send back, I will. It's just a matter of finding a carb that'll do the job.
In addition to replacing my original carburetor on a Tuffy 3, I also purchased this carburetor. The tiller has a 5 hp engine. A carburetor I had set before could no longer be set. With the carburetor replaced, the tiller is running better than it has in a long time. Additionally, starting up is now easy, I should have replaced the carb a long time ago, I had no problems adjusting to the new carburetor. There is no doubt that this product would be recommended.
I would strongly recommend replacing an old tiller with this one. My engine runs great after some adjustments, but it need a little more time to become more efficient.
I used it to replace the old one on my Troy-Bilt motorcycle The tiller is a Tuffy 12060 built by Tuffy. The swap only took a few seconds with just four screws, and it worked When the old tiller is pressed for the first time, it starts right up.
