Questions & Answers

Full extended, what is the weight of the rake. ?

As a matter of fact, I am clueless. The thing is, it is light, and it appears to be very light if you hold it in the middle. Despite this, when you are at the other end of it, trying to get it up on the roof, it feels incredibly heavy. This is something I think my wife would find hard to do. As if it were a flagpole, I hold it. It's lifted into the air and let it fall on the snow, then I pull it off the roof, then lift another time and lower it, then lift again, dropping the head as far up as possible, then pulling back After a bit of rest, I return to work.

Do you have extra extension segments that I can buy to lengthen the rake’s reach?

Is it even possible for you to This is true. My rake can't handle even maximum extension for the time being, so I can't rake it. Other than that, I am very happy with it. But since there are 16 inches of snow on my roof, I cannot imagine spending more money on it.

Is there a wheel to protect the roof shingles on this one?

There is no wheel on this one

How does this affect asphalt shingles? Does the sand roll off easily? That problem is alleviated if you use a rake that is more expensive. What is the value of the experience?

The rake is more likely to pull sand off if there is a lot of downward pressure. This saved my behind. I had no issues with mine.

The product is good for the money, but there are a few connotes
4/5

A solidly built home that can be used by any homeowner. A great feature is that you can adjust the length by using more than one pole section. It doesn't matter how flexible or bending the pole is when fully extended, as all you need to do is to lift it up to place it on the roof and to remove it when you are done. While you are using it, you slide it around on the roof. It did come with all the hardware to put it together, unlike some people who bought it. Nevertheless, it appears that the sleeve of the plastic rake, which connects the pole to the plastic rake, is not drilled with a hole for the bolt. In order to fix the sleeves to the pole, I had to drill the holes in the plastic sleeves carefully so that the holes lined up with the holes in the pole. The support brackets had to be placed in an exact spot or they would not align properly. This minor detour is not a big deal for me, but could be a significant issue for someone who cannot make the necessary factory changes. As an alternative to nuts with lock washers, all the bolts have wing nuts instead. Although it appears that it doesn't require tools to assemble, it was handy to hold it tight with pliers while screwing it The screws cannot be hand tightened and will never stay tight. By the way. It is stated in bold letters on the box that it was made in the United States.

"INSURANCE" AT A CHEAP PRICE
3/5

It was during last winter that I decided this device was an important part of my snow removal inventory. There was no accumulation in my house, but on my 2nd floor there was As a result of the heavy weight of the garage, the small personnel door popped open. It happened twice! In addition, the door was at about a third of its full opening when it hit the floor. Upon inventorying the parts, I discovered I had one of each of the following It's too much. No tapered ends on many poles and a tapered end on one It's too much. There are only a few that have tapered ends. The correct pole was shipped to me about a week later after I called Suncast. In regards to the removal of snow, it is too early. (I hope I never have to use it. )

BUT BE CAREFUL The entire setup is very heavy and hard to control when fully assembled (20 feet). The best way to avoid glass breakage is to raise it up to the edge of the roof and away from any windows. Reducing it back to the original level is the same thing. As I understand it, it should be walked up the way a long ladder is raised. should be on Suncast's instructions, not in the user guide. ).

I was really satisfied with the Suncast Customer Service
5/5

We have gotten more snow this year than any other part of the US. My husband and I purchased the Suncast 24 " two rake bundle last year. My older rake ended up in the fire and I went out and bought the new Suncast 24" rakes for 2019-2020 It was two months ago that we started preparing for the 2020 season. As I put together the second one, I had no idea that I would have to put the second one together so quickly, not because the first one had failed, but because Some parts were missing, but that was not an issue. It took just four days for Suncast to bring the parts I ordered from Amazon to me, even though it had been almost a year since I ordered them through Amazon. The company produces a product of great quality with great customer service!.

The plastic was cheap and brittle after 3 months of use
3/5

Cheap plastic cracks in many places after less than a year of use because it is fragile and brittle. My first roof rake I bought from the local hardware store in 1994 lasted over 10 years before it needed to be replaced, even with neighbors borrowing it! I live at 9400 ft in SW Colorado and my roof rake has never failed. are so many items constructed in cheap factories in China, and why do we continue to import items that are not durable, need to be replaced constantly, and use up valuable resources just to end up in the Snow shovels show the same trend -- older ones usually work the best and last for years, while new ones tend to break down early. In order to obtain a roof rake that would last 10 years like my old one, I am prepared to pay double the price. However, I don't believe those When the brittle plastic breaks, Snowcast might be able to offer cheap replacement parts to be able to repair the rake. Instead of buying more of the cheapened snowrakes, I think I will make my own version of it using some of the broken shovels and recycling the snowcast metal pole instead of spending more money on them.

It was just a little assembly headache, but it made my shoulders sore
4/5

It was pretty easy to assemble when I picked it up. Although I had two minor headaches, they weren't too bad. In order to line up all the holes on the metal rods, a pair of pliers will be helpful for setting up the holes on the shovel. For one of the buttons to fit into the hole on the rod, I needed the paint can opener. Everything worked as intended as soon as I put it together. Keeping this up for 30 minutes will yield results. As a result, your shoulders get a great Then, you need to treat it like a pole vaulting pole once all three poles have been added.

It is almost fun to see how quickly it all came together
5/5

We received the package much faster than we expected I'm very glad I found the roof rake, it's very well designed, and almost perfect. It is almost fun to see the snow fall off the roof so quickly. Snow piles at the entrance to my house and the driveway were harder to clean than I had expected! The cross-cutting aspect of the cross-cutting aspect This blade has a braced design that makes it more stable and A couple minutes were all it took to create it, and since then it has been used quite a lot. It was borrowed by one of my neighbors and one of my friends. The roof rake has also been approved by two coworkers and one friend of mine after hearing my story.

There are a few areas this rake can improve upon- This is 1. It is possible that the pole is not rigid enough because of its length and tends to bend easily. If it is fully extended, it can be a bit tricky to maneuver it. The second paragraph. There is a lot of slickness on the pole's extension. If the pole had two sections other than the one with the non-inching feet, it would be great It has a slipperiness to it. 1. 2. 3. In order to tighten the wingnuts on the blade, you need to turn the blade completely. A 10 minute period has gone by since I lost one! It was a blessing that I could find a similar wingnut in Generally, it is a good product with a good design This is a five-star review. Your help is greatly appreciated!.
