Questions & Answers

What is the best way to remove pine needles with this?

What's that on top of the roof? Pine bundles? I have seen it roll over any mass of pine bundles of any size due to its heavy duty for snow. If you roll it over needles, it should glide over them

Are my shingles or membrane roofs at risk of damage from the blade?

Unlike most of the other products on the market, this product has a plastic blade instead of metal. Unless you can lift the pole so far down that you can damage your roof, it will be nearly impossible (unless you have the strength of the Hulk) to be able to damage the plastic blade.

The only time I might use this would be when the snow on my roof gets too high. This heavy snow plow should be able to pull snow over one meter. What is the height of 5 feet?

Snow can be wet or dry, depending on the moisture content. My experience with this product has been excellent in all types of snow conditions. In the event that the snow is wet (heavy), don't assume it will clear in one pass. If you practice common sense for the conditions, you will find this device useful. Also, remember you cannot remove more than 6 to 8 inches at a time due to the height of the blade.

Can you tell me if this is a non-refundable donation What is the function of a stick blade?

The answer is yes Despite its name, it is not a A blade on a stick.

In some aspects, it is a good product, but in others, it can still use some work
3/5

In the first 3 minutes, the support straps held the plastic blade firmly in place, but then they came out. It is important to mention that when the operation failed, I was attempting to remove three inches of powder. Neither the roof rake nor the roof rake were handled roughly. Due to the way the straps are attached to the blade, there is a design flaw in this product. While my other roof rake comes with a better strap attachment, I absolutely hate the multiple poles and handle assembly that comes with it. The telescopic extension type pole method is so useful for extending and locking the pole smoothly. It was also very handy to have a reach of 21'. There is just something about having to re-write something that I dislike The manufacturer of something I paid nearly $45 for can make it in just three minutes of usage. I would like to send you $00 The fact that we live in an obsolete society is not acceptable, but 3 minutes are never acceptable. (Anyone else noticed the severe decline in about 30 minutes. It was working better than it had been when I opened it. I only had to buy $8 worth of hardware (8 fender washers, 2 1/4" bolts, 2 lock washers and 4 nuts). In my opinion, stainless steel fasteners and lock nuts would have been better but I did not have any so I made do with what I had on hand. I could have returned this as defective but I needed to clear my roof since the light snow was melting and creating ice dams. There is a word of caution. The manufacturer needs to rethink inserting a brass insert in molded plastic so as to attach a stress point on an item that is intended to be used in cold and snowy weather. Attached you will find 3 pictures of the rake after it broke down and 3 pictures of it after I retrofitted it to make it.

A rake has failed on its first use
3/5

My rake broke within 15 minutes of use after I received it today, and I was astonished at how quickly it occurred. Apparently, the problem is in the design of how the struts that hold the head on are attachment to the thinnest parts of the Simply thread a machine screw into the strut and lock it into place It consists of a nut that passes through the shaft's drilled hole. From the photographs, you can see that there is a rake that failed there. My roof line snapped when I was only a few feet from the bottom. A rake made of aluminum and plastic is lightweight and can be carried easily. Having just turned 21, I can see how that would be a good choice, or it might be quite The decision to drill a hole through the main stress point of aluminum tubing is not a good choice. A better design would be to use a tube-to-tube connection. The collar of steel that slides over the shaft reinforces the drilled hole The following is a translation of the You might want to modify your rake BEFORE you use it by slipping a piece of pipe over it and drilling the hole through it, or you may want to go get something more substantial.

A Twist n' Turn with Snow Joe Easily extend and retract the roof rake using the locking mechanism
5/5

A new update has been posted on 12/3/15. As I was expecting, the telescoping handle has greatly improved over snapping together separate pole sections. My only criticism is that the handle snaps together and tangles when pulling. I have the rake fully extended or collapsed in just a minute It won't freeze and you won't need to worry about it. You would be surprised at how much lighter it feels to handle - as well as the unexpected benefits. In the section nearest to the rake, the flexibility is increased. Although typically an unwieldy tool, its flexibility gives it an edge in maneuverability and Using the rake in this way gives me a better sense of placement. As a result, it is performing better than anticipated. One section of my roof faces north and has a small overhang that leads to a lot of ice dams. I can make the problem less severe if I rake the roof as snow accumulates. Specifically, snow rakes such as this one are designed to work on 3-inch snow After a big storm there will be at least 4 inches of accumulation, so you may have to re-plow during the storm Rub the roof with a rake. I stopped using the last snow roof rake I purchased because the pole segments snapped in. In addition, although it worked wonders at pulling snow down, the assembly usually had to be performed while standing outside in a raging storm with icy fingers sticking into The length of this pole was the part that I dreaded most about using the rake, but this new telescoping pole solution eliminates that worry completely. Despite many improvements this version has a more stable attachment system as well. When I originally used this version of the rake, wings nuts were used to attach the supports to the polycarbonate (plastic) rake, and they had to be checked before each use as they may have loosened. As a matter of fact, they often did. As mentioned, this was an important step because without it, the head would have too much give, which could crack the plastic. Additionally, along with improving the pole, some of the screws that attach the braces to the plastic rake have been replaced with small screws that are tightened using an Allen wrench included. Despite a low tilt angle, this system does not appear to loosen and keeps the structure solid. Three screws and one nut are attached to two braces, with the two braces being connected by three screws. Everything you need is included, even the hardware. Despite the fact that I bought this rake as soon as I saw it because it is the brand I've been using and have been pleased with, I also know from experience that it is best to purchase before the first big storm, otherwise I might not be able to get it. Towards the end of using it, I will update the review if I encounter problems.

This is good news for me
5/5

The compact size makes it easier for me to use than my old one, which was heavier. It has lasted a winter now, and it's totally fine. It's lightweight, so it's easier to handle. While it is a little bendy, I do not have any issue with it once I get it up on the roof, and it is easy to use once I am lying on it. Solar panels are present, and they seem to work fine with the device. The weight of it makes it impossible to break through crusted-on surfaces Since the solar panels are placed over snow, if snow melts a bit and then refreezes before you reach it, you're out of luck. However, since I'm more concerned about not damaging my panels than damaging the roof, I don't mind that. okay, but I recommend not tightening the bolts until you have everything lined up correctly, just so you're sure everything is in line. The product I purchased is excellent.
