My 20-pound dogs can swim in it, but it's only two feet deep, so your lab wouldn't be able to "swim" in it.
On the opposite side, closer to the bottom, there is a drain plug.

It's not for her alone because it's far too big for a 20-month-old. I got it so that if she wanted, me and her father could join her. It was fantastic, and my husband said it was simple to put together: We covered the entire pool with a rubber mat (similar to those foam interlocking play tiles). It was a great success. It felt fantastic on your feet and knees on the inside of the pool at the bottom. You can purchase the mat from them. I didn't buy it, but as we were putting it up, we realized that it did, in fact, need something to protect the pool and keep you comfortable when you're inside, so we went with the foam tiles. And it was on our concrete patio that we were putting it together. I purchased the filter pump that was suggested. This year, I'm looking forward to putting up the pool again! I'm going to buy a pool cover so that buggies don't have to swim in it every morning. I'm glad I looked into it.
We love the pool; it's perfect for the kids, and we purchased a filter to go with it. It also fits nicely on my back patio. It will need to be surrounded by a fence to prevent dogs from tearing it apart. Please note that the pool dimensions are as advertised, but the pool will be larger after installation due to the poles extending out further.
This pool has given me far more grief than it is worth. Because the drains are located high up in the pool, they can never fully drain (as shown in the photo), so you must turn it upside down to completely empty it. The issue is that the entire pool will fall apart, and you will have to rebuild it. There were no screws or mechanisms to keep it together when it arrived. It's sturdy once it's filled with water, but when you try to drain it to clean it and refill it with fresh water, it won't drain because the plug or "drain" is about 5 inches from the bottom. LEAVING APPROXIMATELY 5 INCHES OF DIRTY WATER. I wish I had the option to return this and receive a refund. However, how do you rebox a flooded pool? A total of $80 was squandered, but a valuable lesson was learned. This is a pool that should not be purchased. Save your money and purchase a blow-up pool that you can at least flip over to empty or clean.
The pool is fantastic, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the supporting poles are steel. They provide adequate support because the pool is situated on my back patio, which is made of concrete and has a slight incline to allow for rain runoff, so it does not sit perfectly flat. I would advise anyone considering purchasing this type of pool to ensure that it is installed on a flat surface, as the manufacturer recommends. My only complaint is with the filter I bought, not with the pool. The Intex Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 530 GPH Pump Flow Rate, 110-Volt was recommended to me by several people. I used 120V and a GFCI. Unfortunately, it does not maintain the cleanliness of the pool. In retrospect, I should have chosen the Intex Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools, 1000 GPH Pump Flow Rate, 110-Volts. GFCI protected at 120 volts. It's possible that would have resulted in a better result. But, hey, it's not a big deal, and the kids are having a blast.
Setting up and filling this pool was a breeze. I wouldn't recommend diving in because it isn't deep enough, but my wife enjoys swimming laps in it or simply relaxing on an air mattress. We also received the filter/pump as part of the package, which I would recommend to anyone considering it. br>We are very pleased with the pool, and we will be able to drain it, clean it, and store it until next summer. You must bring your own water or borrow your neighbor's garden hose while they are away, as I did.
This is an excellent purchase! The loops that keep the legs in place are my favorite feature. It's also very simple to put together. It is not in use by my children. I put it in my basement after I moved it to keep my pond koi safe until their new pond is dug this spring.
I bought it for my labradors, and it has stood up well to their mistreatment.
My two young children, ages 6 and 2, are still quite young. Despite being "protected" under a porch, the bars are showing signs of rest. I put this up in early June and the bars are showing signs of rest. I think it'll last a few more years if I spray it with paint after I disassemble it to prevent the rust from spreading. Just a reminder that the support poles are located inside the other poles. As a result, it's best to remove them all before you begin. Although the instructions aren't great, I was able to put this together on my own. It took me two days to complete the task. It took 3 hours, but at least an hour was spent figuring out how to use the pump.
