Questions & Answers

How long do you think this pool will last if it's set up properly and cared for properly? Can the liner be replaced?

My sister-in-law gave us a round Intex pool as a gift. On top of the original owner's use, my mother-in-law bought it used off of Craigslist and used it for three seasons, and we're on our third season with it now. According to my calculations, this pool has been in use for between 8 and 10 years, and it is still in good condition with a functioning pump.

Is it possible to keep the pool open all year?

Mine has been up in central Maine (below zero temperatures) for the past eight years. 18 x 52". I took it down the first two winters, but noticed that others had left theirs up with no problems! I drain down to below the intake hole, disconnect, and store the pump and hoses inside. The sand tank is left outside, and the drain hole is left open. A gallon of algaecide and a gallon of winterizer are added to the mix. ***I put these in and circulate them before draining the water. Half of it is thrown away because it is washed away with the water, but it only costs $4. For each gallon, it will cost you $99 dollars. After that, I cover it with a couple of inflatables. To keep the cover in place, I fill nine or ten vinegar gallon bottles 3/4 full of water and clip them to the cover with plastic carabiners. When I need to get rid of water that is weighing down the cover, I use a cover pump. I've had it for eight years and paid $45 on Amazon!

What is the true width of the legs when they are fully extended? "I'm not sure" isn't a good answer. 😊?

13 ft. 10 in. x 25 ft. 10 in.

I'm not sure how much sand I'll need for the filter. ?

The Intex 32' X 16' X 52' pool gets an honest review
5/5

For about four months, I watched every video and read every review on this pool. So, to this list, I'd like to add a few bullet points:
- The ground had to be leveled for 2 hours. Brought in sand and made sure the ground was level, but it wasn't perfect. br>- It took 3 hours to set up the pool. This task was completed by me and my 100-pound fiance, and it took a long time to unpack everything from all the boxes, which was difficult due to the weight of the pool liner. I wish we'd taken the time to smooth out all the wrinkles. If you don't have an army, make sure the tarp is laid where you want the pool; there's no going back to move it. Make sure you have a dolly for this job; I purchased one and found it to be the best investment I made. One thing to note: I initially believed Intex had sent me the wrong corner poles because they were much smaller than the others, but that is simply how they are; they must move. I was pretty upset until I watched some other videos and realized that's how they are all the time.
- The pool filter, salt water, and hoses took about 2 hours to connect. To fill the filter, you'll need about 120 pounds of sand (pool filter sand is available at Home Depot). To begin, you'll need about 8 bags of salt (sold at Walmart and labeled "pool salt"), 3lbs of water stabilizer (cyanuric acid, also sold at Walmart), and a pool water test kit (the pool comes with test strips, but you'll want to upgrade eventually).
- It took approximately three days for the pool to fill. I upgraded my hose to give me a higher water output. I didn't water at night because I was constantly pulling the legs out to make sure they weren't stuck. On the most inner side of the brick, I placed 1 inch bricks on the legs (which were not level with the ground). The legs had kicked their way to the middle of the brick by the time the pool had filled up. The rails will dip until the pool is 100% filled, and my right side has a slight bend, but I know the ground is soft and the bricks will sink over time. br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with this pool right now and looking forward to the arrival of summer. It's a big pool. I like how Intex provides you with almost everything you'll need to get your pool up and running. The pool will take a lot of time and effort to set up and maintain, but the benefits of having such a large pool will be worth it. I intend to take it down and store it after the summer, so I'll write a report on how that goes.

It's going to be an amazing summer!! To begin, I'd like to point out that this pool is quite large, which is a plus
5/5

However, preparation is critical because the ground must be level. For my salt water system, I used four yards of sand, 18-inch pavers, and 260 pounds of salt. The water is clear as a bell. At this point, the pump is no longer efficient. I'm really excited about the construction.

It's important to read a candid review
4/5

We ordered three different pools before settling on the XTR 24x12 pool. Two rounds were included, as well as the smaller 18x9. Finally, we decided to place an order for this one. The delivery went off without a hitch! Although the box was heavy, it was in good condition when it arrived. There was no harm done. br>br>Before you consider installing this pool, make sure your ground is level. We rented a skidder and did our best to level the ground. We followed the grading with rock dust and then sand; some people advise against using rock dust or sand, but we wouldn't have been able to get the ground level without them. Our local pool company even suggested rock dust because it's what they use in their commercial pools. It took about four days to complete the leveling. br>After many hours of hard work leveling the ground, we were finally able to put up the pool. We laid down the ground cover, but underneath it we used a thicker felt material. Because the ground cover is just a sliver of tarp, If you've used rock dust or have a rocky area, something other than the ground cover is highly recommended. br>Assembly was simple; we did, however, install all of the side poles together before sliding them into the sleeve, despite the instructions' recommendation that they be installed one at a time. After they've been inserted into the sleeve, it's nearly impossible to connect them. br>It took about 1 hour to put everything together. I spent 5 hours with my husband and myself (I'm expecting a child). If I can do it at 6 months pregnant, it's very simple and doable. br>As soon as we had the pool put together, we began filling it. br>It is IMPORTANT to keep an eye on the legs as the pool fills and to ensure that the ground is level to prevent the legs from buckling under the weight of the pool. Filling the pool with two water hoses took about 11 hours. Another must is that the corner L pieces do not fit in a specific grove and move around as the pool fills. We made a huge error by failing to keep an eye on the L pieces in the corners. These move as the pool fills, and one end almost came out, causing the pool to collapse and possibly rip just as it was about to be completely filled. While filling, keep an eye on the L corner brackets to ensure they don't all slide into one side. The pool had a huge bow in the middle because of one corner, but we were able to fix the L bracket by tapping it with a rubber hammer. br>br>The pool bowed in on each side until it was completely full, and I mean completely full to the sleeve line. We began to be concerned because the process was taking so long. br>br>Another important consideration is to use pavers under each leg if you're using sand or installing on a soft surface. We didn't do this, and the legs have now sunk into the sand, which we won't be able to fix until the fall, when we go to winterize it. We're taking a chance on leaving the pool up all winter after the time it took to level the rock dust, sand, and assemble it. br>The pool's pump is excellent! I'm confident it'll do the job and last a long time. The sand was only $15, and the pump was only $15! Overall, this is a fantastic pool! br>br> It's a little on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth it. This is the pool to get if you're thinking about buying one. Choose the 24x12 if you can't decide between the 18x9 and the 24x9. It's a great size, and I'm guessing the 18x9 is too small!.

The pool is fantastic
4/5

For the past five years, my family and I have been swimming in Intex pools. This pool is large enough to accommodate a family of seven. This pool is where we taught our children to swim. This improved version is even more impressive! The pool should be laid on plywood, in my opinion. That information came directly from Intex, which is a fantastic resource.

The ground is level
5/5

My last one, at long last, at 8 years, was of great value to me. This new XTR model appears to be even more durable than the previous one. Once you've got the ground level, it's a breeze to set up. All of the pieces were present and easily assembled.

It is not possible to program the pump
4/5

One of the features I expected to receive was a programmable pump that I could set to run at a specific time, but this is not the case. Every time the pump is turned on, it must be manually started, and then the duration of the run can be set. I'm going to replace the pump with one that I can leave alone. Even with my skinny 7-year-old on it, the ladder is quite shaky. Aside from that, it appears to be an excellent pool. We chose the sand filter model after reading so many complaints about rust in salt water pools. Check the support poles on a regular basis to ensure that they are straight. Because I wasn't paying attention while it was filling, a few of our support poles are slightly crooked. You won't be able to straighten them once the pool is full without draining it. Good luck with your swimming.
