Solid and with no splinters. I received a pair, nice solid wood, a nice price. seem to be made of solid material and feel The only issue is that I wish they came in cedar to match my sauna, but aside from that, they are excellent. Put a towel over them if you want to be more comfortable. I understand that they are hardwood, but the curves are beautiful. It doesn't seem like they do a lot of slicing. During a Sunlighten Sauna, they come in handy.
This is a great product, and I am pleased that I bought it. I love the way the sauna looks so welcoming and cool with these chairs. They work really well for me and don't move at all, so I don't understand the review about them not staying put. My knees stay in place throughout the whole time I use them, as I can angle them for the best comfort. After searching for better deals, this purchase seemed like the best deal I could find and I paid it at the best price I could find. There was no better price anywhere out there than what this seller offered.
As a result, I have spent much money on a low toxicity sauna, only for my husband to begin experiencing pain in his scalp when the toxic glue is used unless we leave them outdoors. There was probably a better cedar sauna from Vital Health Saunas I should have waited for and spent more money on. If you use it daily as well as air it outside a lot, it will be more effective.

My favorite part about these backrests is It is disappointing that these came from Costco, as I could have saved about $10 if I had bought them there direct. However, aside from the fact that we didn't get the best deal, these backrests are an excellent quality, and they are Their smooth, ergonomic shapes make them very comfortable to use.
The straps tend to slip back on me, but I do find them comfortable. Both were used at the same time and both worked well. To keep the table from moving, maybe rubber feet of some type can be added. The overall feel and quality of the item are very nice.
It was nice to have these, but I had to return them (Connect Buy is a very distasteful company to deal with), they were just too large for the 1-inch shaft they had. Our 2 person sauna (which actually is just a 1 person sauna) was much larger than it appeared to be. If you do not plan to use it until you have the Sauna up and running, I would recommend not buying it until you have the Sauna up and running and then decide if it will be beneficial.
