You'd need to purchase a large number of them. No. It's likely that the water in your pool is ice cold. These are designed for hot water chemistry and spas with hundreds of gallons of water, not thousands.
No, because the chemicals are in the mineral pack, which is part of the frog.

I've been using a spa for decades and have no qualms about adding my own chlorine if necessary. My new spa came equipped with a Spa Frog @ease Floating SmartChlor Chlorine Sanitizing floating device, which worked well for about 30 days before the chlorine cartridge needed to be replaced. This is a lot more expensive than using chlorine powder or tablets, which costs $10 per cartridge. But I wanted to give it another shot in the 350-gallon spa, with the chlorine release set to the lowest level possible. It gets the job done, despite the fact that I'm a little picky about it. After a lot of use, you should chlorinate. br>br>In the future, I might use this device only if I'm going to be gone for a long time and want to keep the chlorine level in the water low. However, once this supply is depleted, I'll most likely return to using tablets and a tablet dispenser.
I've been trying to use this product, which I bought from a local spa supply store, for three months and have had nothing but bad results. After each use of the spa, I still have to add more chlorine. When I return home after being gone for several days and the spa hasn't been used, the chlorine levels are undetectable, despite the fact that the spa is set to number four. On this setting, the frog flips over every 18 to 21 days and definitely does not last a month. This has resulted in contaminated water, which has necessitated shocks or the draining and restarting of the process. This is clearly not worth the money, and I would not recommend it to anyone. My spa has a capacity of 440 gallons. It's used by two to four people about five nights a week. With the exception of Chlorine, all of my other chemical parameters have been perfect; I clean the filters every 30 days and use a protect plus and shock oxidizer on a weekly basis. I'm now looking for a solution to maintain chlorine/bromine levels while I'm gone for three weeks. 5 days.
This is a significant improvement. We recently switched to chlorine tablets in a floater and are much happier as a result of this ease system. Our hot tub is as well! br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>—Highly pricedbr>—Wasteful - br>Plastic waste—ineffective br> Even if the door is fully open, chlorine granules must be added to the water. br>—damaged - When they're empty, they either flip over too soon or don't flip at all. I received this product free with my spa purchase and have been trying to get it to work for months because I prefer the convenience of a floater and the idea of a lower chlorine product. I have purchased replacement cartridges on Amazon and have two cartridges in my spa on the highest setting, but the water still goes bad. My water is now clean and clear after switching to a $10 floater with 1" clorine tabs. Spa frog products are costly and wasteful, and they do not last nearly as long as they claim. I strongly discourage you from doing so.
These are dry chlorine containers that are used in spas. I've been using these for over a year and have noticed that the chlorine content varies from 9. 8oz to 8. 2oz. This is a difference of more than a factor of ten. 5oz - These are used to keep the spa water sanitized and safe for a period of time, which in this case is a lot of chlorine. I've never complained before, but there doesn't appear to be any change in weight consistency. There is no weight stated on any of the packages. Is this a legal situation? Isn't there a way to check these containers with Weights and Measures? What is the recommended weight for a consistent weight? Because of the inconsistency, it's difficult to keep our spa clean and sanitary at all times. What am I paying for, after all? Am I being taken advantage of? There is no other similar service provider, and the Frog system is a great idea, but it needs to be consistent.
Update: Sadly, despite being a fan of the frog system, the @ease squandered a significant amount of money. The issue is that it lasted no more than a week, and in some cases even less. It was strange because before switching to the @ease system, I was using the Serene floating system, which worked perfectly. What I discovered is that the @ease ball gets stuck in one of the skimmer, and the suction is likely consuming all of the smartchlor, resulting in a number of issues: too much smartchlor, it doesn't last long enough, and the pump may be damaged as a result of the skimmer blockage. I'm trying to figure out whether I should go back to the Frog Serene System or find another smart solution for my hot tub maintenance. br>___br>I like this product because it makes my life easier, but I gave it four stars instead of five because the "empty" indicator, which turns to the silver side, never appeared several times, so I never knew when to replace the cartridge. As a result, more changes or shocks to the hot tub were required. Another problem is that this device frequently gets stuck in the filter skimmer's opening. I'm not sure if this is beneficial or if it is hastening the depletion of the cartage. My recommendation is to purchase it; it is a well-thought-out product that, while it could be bettered, is currently the best option on the market.
The cartridges do not last three years, despite the fact that this system is foolproof. 4 weeks. The first cartridge lasted about two weeks, while the second lasted even less time. Every two weeks, I conduct a water test in my bathtub. The chlorine, ph, and other tests took three days, and the chlorine levels were always fine with the first cartridge. Although the second cartridge could have been a lemon, the chlorine level was consistently low. It's not worth the money if you have to replace these every two weeks. Since then, I've been doing my own chlorine additions. This is a much less expensive method. It takes more time and effort, but it is significantly less expensive.
They're fantastic. Prior to using the Frog system, I was constantly buying chlorine, PH up, and Renu powder, which was very expensive. I've had the Frog system for 18 months and have used these replacement cartridges every time the Frog device has flipped over. I rarely, if ever, need to add chlorine, and I only use all other chemicals once a month or less. These cartridges are simple to use, convenient, and cost-effective.
