Whatever size the pool is, that's the size you'll need, and you'll pull the string until it's snug in the inner crease.
For the sake of value, it works. There have been a few hiccups but nearly all of the leaves and trash has been removed from the pool.
Your question implies you have a 12 ft cover and a 10 ft pool because there is a perfect fit for 10 ft diameter pools. Everything should work out fine.
Around a foot and a half in from the outside edge, there are about ten holes in the middle and around ten holes around the outside.

You must first put it on and then tighten it by pulling on the rope. Once tightened, it stays in place and is relatively simple to remove or fold back in half. Others claim it contains flaws. Yes, there are a few flaws in it. I purchase a roll of Tear Aid tape, which is a highly durable tape. Then I cut small pieces out and cover all of the holes around the outerbr>edges, bottom and top, effectively sealing all of them. Covering the holes that people are complaining about is a simple fix. There are several holes in the center, which I leave open to allow rain to pass through, but I buy a 36-inch round float, inflate it, and place it under those holes, which keeps the pool cover off the pool and prevents pool water from entering. This may appear to be a lot of work, but I get the entire summer out of the cover if I do this one time, so you only have to do it once to keep the water out around the edges. The 36-inch round float traps water in specific areas of the cover, which I remove with a pump after rain. The cover is great because I can leave it on all year and peel it off when I want to use the pool, and it keeps the pool clean from leaves and other debris.

This was purchased to replace an Intex cover that had ripped after three years of use. This is a huge improvement over the previous one. There isn't a 6-inch version of this. There are ten holes in the middle to prevent the middle from filling with water and sagging. It has approximately 8 holes along the outside edge to allow air to escape when it is being covered. When it comes to uncovering the pool, I believe this will do a much better job of keeping debris out.
However, it is insufficient. The cover I got has about four holes in it, all of which are positioned on top of the inflatable section. Because there are no holes in the middle, rainwater fills up in the middle and sits on the water, completely defeating the purpose. Then, unless you have someone else to help you, it's difficult to get off without dumping the icky rain water and tree debris into the pool. It'll get the job done, but it's nothing like what was advertised.
I was excited about this cover and read a lot of reviews before purchasing it. I eventually decided that the holes in the cover were a good idea, but the first time it rained, the cover simply sank into the water, making it nearly impossible for us to pull it out without letting all of the trash and leaves from the trees fall into the pool. The entire point of the cover was to keep it clean and keep the majority of the bugs out, which was impossible to achieve. However, I should point out that our pool is not an Intex, and the fit of the cover played a significant role in my experience. I believe the cover would work much better if it could stretch higher over the water. But God help whoever finds theirs submerged in the pool, because no matter how hard you pull, it will just stretch and sink further. It's well-made, and I'm confident it'll serve others well. We aren't one of them.
THERE ARE NO HOLES SHOWN. Images on the internet and in the product box give the impression that this is some kind of elastic flexible cover. That isn't the case in the least. And, while I understand the gaps if they are trying to avoid a lawsuit, it should be clearly displayed on the box and in advertising images. To keep it off the water's surface, you could buy a tarp and toss a large inflatable beach ball in the pool's center.
This is an excellent cover that accomplishes the task at hand. Every single complaint in these reviews stems from people being overly optimistic about the pool they already have. br>br>These aren't the best pools in the world. Although they are more on the low end of the spectrum, they are adequate for the basic, beginner pools that they are. br>br>Neither the cover nor the pools will last forever. This cover keeps debris out of your pool, prevents chemicals and water from evaporating at night, and heats your pool in direct sunlight. br>br>I live in Oregon, and it's been raining for the past few weeks, so I probably set up my pool too early. I remove and replace the cover several times throughout the day to drain the rainwater that has accumulated. So far, everything has gone well. All I need to do now is make sure the pool is fully inflated so the cover will fit properly.
