It should not be a problem to bend the panels since they come rolled up.
Packages which feature four panels of two feet by twenty feet with a hose connecting them are known as 4x20s.
The minimum number of panels you need is at least two, unless your pool is no deeper than two feet. There should be sufficient heat in a 14' x 30' pool in TX, and that's 2. 1 panel for every 5000 gallons of water in a pool should be the rule of thumb. As well, you don't have to run them from end to end of the pool. The two of them are stacked side by side on top of my pergola roof. Therefore, they do not take up as much space. In addition to installing them on the roof, I also installed them side by side.
In view of the fact that our pump shows a bit more than 10 psi (four panels connected in parallel), it seems reasonable to assume 10 at the inlet could also In my experience, these panels work much more efficiently if they have two intakes at one end and one return at the other end (much higher flow). Intex pool pump with 18ft of head on the system could be used with more pipe involved, but I was able to use my existing pump.

For reference, here is a YouTube video. Michigan's temperatures went from the 70s to the 90s by Memorial Day, but the water in the pool was still heat is added to the water, this system will work faster. Additional 200 was spent on the manifold and setup. PANIELS FOR THESE PANELS CAN BE INSTALLED WITH THE INSTALL KIT! The extra $40 is worth it but the service is fantastic.
It has been said before, but use a lot of TEFLON TAPE on these threads! As an initial step, I used pvc glue but that failed to hold, so I had to redo it and put lots of teflon tape on those threads and pipe dope, and only then did I no longer have have an Intex 1,000 GPH Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump that I purchased from Walmart for $42. It fits over a 1" PVC pipe with a metal clamp, and comes with flex hoses. There is no sun, so there is no heat! It circulates the water well, and it doesn't heat up too much. I give it 4 stars because I think The 5" caps that come with this product are pipe thread, but the black pipes on the heaters are straight thread, so if you put the caps on, they won't seal without pipe dope and teflon.
I am very pleased with this purchase. We purchased the 4x20 setup and installed it on top of the roof where it is flat and plumbed it with 3/4 inch PVC piping, and used a Harbor Freight transfer pump to circulate the water. This is an excellent device, the water is about ten degrees warmer after it circulates We are pleased with the pump's ability to push water at a pretty good volume and to heat up our 12x24 Intex pool just right.
If you want to keep the pool pump separate from your regular pump, you can buy a cheap pool pump at Walmart. The work is great!.
I have been using them for the past two years. To make my inground pool look more like a natural pool, I ordered four panels (8 panels). My platform is an inclined platform made of plywood treated with mineral oil so they can sit on it and it is secured To reduce pressure drop and make life easier on my pump, I used a parallel connection pattern, so none of my panels were daisy chained end to end. Installation
It was easy to install, but a couple trips to the store may be necessary if you're not hooking it up to an above ground pool with a
The first year, I had pinhole leaks in 3 panels to fix, so instead of going to the store to get JB weld, I used JB weld. These definitely worked because the pool heated up quicker, and the water remained warm for longer periods of time. Even in the summer, if you have cool nights, I would definitely recommend adding a bit of intelligence to the system and get a controller that can control the valves or just manually check the weather and decide whether or not to activate the system. I blew them out and pulled all my drain plugs for the winter. This year when I started them up, they had a few more pinhole leaks (my JB weld held over winter) and 2 panels had cracks in the small tubes right next to the big tubes. I tried to put a small screw in the hole following their recommended procedure but it did not work, the plastic is now too brittle and it takes barely We had weather similar to the one they were in last year, which is probably the best case scenario if you live in a moderate climate. There was a temperature of 40F this past winter, so it certainly provided a pleasant atmosphere. I went through a fun experiment, but the solar cells were just too cheaply made for my environment. Because my infrastructure is set up, I will now create my own "solar panel" using irrigation pipes.
After turning the pool up to 80F within a few days with full sun (22'x52'' with 10500 gallons), the temperature rose up in record time. In addition, I am using a solar blanket to keep the pool warm at night and during the day when no one is using it. Spending about $200 on a frame and 1, I got first-class service. This system is fed by 5" pvc piping, which is bypassed by a 4" pvc piping. For winter, I added extra couplings to make adjustments and take down easier. In one end of the system, I feed it from the bottom corner, and in the other end, I take it out of the upper corner (parallel panels). For the pvc pipe to be attached to the panel, I use threaded pvc couplers. With my 14" intex sandfilter pump (2,800 GPH), I can provide water to about 400 fish at a time. Maybe adding a 3rd panel parallel to the existing ones will help boost the flow rate again. There have been a few minor leaks (droplets of water from some of the little pipes) and I am waiting for a replacement (I still give it 5 stars considering how easy the exchange process was with Amazon and that I could keep the old pipe While the amount of leaks is so little that I can still run the system, I fully expect it to be leak free considering its price. If you get it tightly rolled up, let it sit in the sun for a couple of days to let it flatten on its own. This system is a great one in general. Although it is rather space-required, this kind of system heats materials on a surface-by-surface basis.
In the last 10 years, we have bought two SunHeaters. It took us several tries, but once we reversed the install (black coupling lies at the far end of the heater instead of at the front), our brand new heater adds 10 degrees in just one hour Swimming pool with a temperature of 15° and a capacity of 11,000 gallons. I loved how easy it was to install and how well it worked.
I am so glad we purchased this solar heater. We were swimming in our pool 1 month earlier this year because of the solar blanket. As a result, our fall season will be extended by a month.
