Since it operates without batteries, but is powered by a garden hose, I find this to be very convenient. I was unable to skim the small particles from the bottom of the bag, but the bag does a great job at trapping them. As we turned up the hose gradually, you could see it sucking. At low pressure, it worked fine but as we turned it up more, it became more difficult. This is my first pool vacuum powered by a water hose and I wasn't sure how it would work, especially with its low price. There are no tools required for assembly, and connecting the vacuum to a water hose is as easy as connecting the parts.
