Other than throwing it in a big box with air bags, I need to figure out a better way to package this. During shipping, it rolls and takes bumps, shattering about 1/8 of the tabs into pieces and dust, but it still works. The tabs dissolve slowly and effectively clean the water in my hot tub.
I've used these before, and the bromine tablets are extremely effective. Part of this review is about the shipper and part is about the shipping company. Not sure. The package was tattered and shattered when it arrived. The bromine tablets inside became powdered sugar rather than solid tablets as a result of this. As a result, when I tried to put them in the float, they dissolved almost as quickly as they arrived from Amazon.
I was sorely mistaken. My kids wanted to open the package, but I'm glad they didn't. br>A large puff of Bromine hit me in the face as soon as I untwisted the lid. My eyes were burning from coughing and gagging. I looked like a fool, but I was terrified because I hadn't expected to be sprayed with a corrosive and dangerous powder in the face! br>After clearing my eye, I examined the container, which contained half crushed tablets and the remainder broken in some way. br>I attempted to return the item because the powder dispenser in my pool does not work with powder. And guess what, due to the corrosive nature of the product, you can't return it; I've tried to contact them but haven't received a response.
Whoever packed it for shipping put it in an over-sized box with no bubble wrap or padding. Needless to say, the tablets were quite shaken during the trip, and instead of tablets, I had a lot of bromine dust. (br>However, this is a good product. ).
I like how they don't dissolve as quickly as some of the other brands I've tried. The quick-dissolving tabs spike your sanitizer levels, and then they're gone before you know it, and you're running low on sanitizer in the water. These appear to be a little slower and more consistent in their release. Since I've been using the leisure time brom tabs, I haven't had any water quality issues or had any gross water, so I'd say they're doing a good job.
In our 250-square-foot house, they're perfect. hot tub with a capacity of gallons I put 2- 3 in a floater (it resembles a ufo with a center post). I add another 1 or 2 when I notice the bromine levels have dropped. Simple. To maintain alkalinity, I add baking soda about once a week, depending on our usage. I also use Spa Guard Enhanced Shock to shock the tub. This appears to help with the bro-problem. build- up, bro.
Our hot tub will benefit greatly from the bromine tablets. They are far superior to chlorine granules, and they emit no odor. I'm glad I made the switch to these.
